FLHRSE3 air cleaner cover

Can anyone tell me whether this air cleaner cover would fit on an 08 FLHX with a Screamin' Eagle round air filter (Stage 1), and if so, got a part number?

Could I get one for mine Howie ?

Don't like the oval European one that we have as much as the USA one. I guess it would fit perfectly on my Doherty Air Filter as well.

Yep, like holy water to a witch, you put that on a non-CVO bike and it's sure to burn your leg.  And isn't putting a 110 decal on a 96 engine the same as sticking hemi badges on a 318 Roadrunner?  Shame.

I had a problem with my cover last summer (stipped screw) and the dealership had to hunt around to get me a replacement off of another dealer's shelf.  I was told they couldn't order it and that the MOCO was going to discontinue making the round covers.  When the '08's came out with the oval covers, I figured that rumor must have been true.

Hey Nige, let me know if you want me to order one. I'd probably have to order each part separately. The cover, 110 insert, insert screws and center screw. Let me know and I'll get prices from Charlie's. I can call them unlike other 20% internet shops. I'll also see if they can ship it directly. If not, I'd have it shipped here and reship it to you. ;)

Hey Howie - it sure would be kind of you to get some prices for me. I decided to try the oval cover on the Doherty yesterday and discovered that it fits no problem. My only worry is that it will start to turn on it's centre screw - I think some folk have already had a problem with this happening.

The entire cover isn't VIN protected.  Just the center emblem.

Could do like I did and Linny is doing.  Get the outer cover and then machine up a center of your own.

Well the center emblem is that cover! The cover itself is a cheap POS! If you worried about the cover turning. The round one would do the same. Then your center insert would be crooked. I've never had this problem. It think if you use that HD gasket between the filter and the cover, this doesn't happen.

If you can order everything but the center emblem yourself, let me know what you want to do. ;)

I guess becuse the air filter was changed out almost as soon as I got the bike I had forgotten about the gasket that goes between the ir filter and the cover. I'll have a root about in my spares box and see if I can find it. On the basis of the "spinning" problem I think I might run with oval cover for a while and see what happens. I'll let you know if I decide to go for the round cover.

Hey gang, sorry I've missed you guy's for a little while. I had to order the whole A/C assembly for a buddy of mine because even the A/C cover was protected since it's only available on S/E bikes- it is not available for sale in the P/A book. Here is a list of part no's and prices- Insert screws(5)-3118-$2.00-   Insert-29206-07  -$79.90-   Gasket-29591-99-$5.98-    Center screw-29327-94-$3.55-    A/C Cover-29199-07-$130.00-     Hope this is helpful.   Chris
