Nice Pictures - Lake Placid is a fun relaxing city.  Was there when I was a kid - enjoyed every minute!

Thanks, I wish we had had more time there. I would have liked to do a little snow shoeing and hiking. There were a couple of events going on, hockey and free style skiing but I ended up watching it on TV when we got home. :confused5:

Nice pics. Funny, Lake Placid is more of a winter destination yet I've been there numerous times passing through, all in the summer.

Ed...don't you know that snow shoeing is a lot like work?  Better to do this:

Although I don't down hill ski, cross country for me, at least it used to be. The slopes in the area must be pretty good with all the world class Olympic training going on.

Terry I agree, but I can't climb "up" the trails with those long boards on my feet... :huepfenlol2:

It looks like a great winter destination, we're going back when I can spend a little more time. I'd like to get out in the back country. I'm heading back through the area next summer on the bike.

Gotta try the Bobsled and Luge rides - never felt G's like I did on the bobsled. A lot of fun! :2vrolijk_21:
