I used a three part packing kit I bought at the Hondakaswsuzki shop. It did mute the sound somewhat, but was still too loud. True duals have a lot of advantages, looks, cooler, etc, but they will make any muffler you use louder than the stock crosssover system. The disadvantage of the rineharts is having to use their mufflers. You might check out the link TC posted, Rush makes some good stuff. I have some rush 2" baffle mufflers on V&H true duals that are not earsplitting loud at all. For long trips I have some supertrapp supermegs with 18 discs that are very mellow and at the end of a long day, they are very much appreciated.

I actually ordered a set of the new True Dual Baffles and after checking them out at the dealer when they came in I went ahead and purchased them. Got them installed, (what a bear to get the old set out) and was happy with the sound reduction. To me the sound level is Perfect. Much more mellow, still a little throaty and they didn't sound tinny as someone here suggested. I'm Happy. These baffles actually have an inner and outer baffle system whereass the performance and the older quite baffle is one straight baffle. You can actually tell by looking at the new design that they will cut the sound level. Now i can hear the symbols in good ole Beethoven, and enjoy the sound of my good running Harley equally.

It'll be interesting to hear them My brother inlaw has a quiet set in his Ultra & they definitely sound tinny.I'll have to let him know about the new version. Good info.

I installed the Rienhardts with the "quiet baffles". Immediately removed them, and installing the Supertrapp as recommended by Joe MINTON. GOOD 'middle of the road" sound. Have SERT, and A/C.

I will be having the Bub 7's put on my bike next week. Dealer tell's me they will be quieter than V&H oval's I will let you know how they sound . I will also talk to them about the quiet baffles.

Most people don't realize that Reinhardt has a 'new', introduced in Jan 2008, quite baffle. I think most of you not happy with their baffle's may be refereeing to the original quite baffle. The new quite baffle is a big improvement in lowering decibels while maintaining a nice rumble when when you grab a good handfull of throttle. And it is NOT tinny sounding as some of you suggest. If you have Reinhardts and trying to quieten them down a bit, their new baffle fits the thicket. And To be expected, you'll notice a loss of performance at the top end so if your performance minded, you will be disappointed.

I've heard that Sampson has a very very quite baffle out for their Caliber True Dual system and i understand they are almost as quite as stock. I would like to hear feed back on this set-up if anyone can share their experience with them. Vance  and Hines has a new true dual bib oval system which is as quite as the stock systems, so im told, and I understand they are considered a performance exhaust system capable of providing big HP and Torque numbers for the big inch motors. Let's hear your experiences with this one too.

at norman highway speeds, 2500-3000 rpms the level of exhaust noise is damn near quiet.  as we know crack the throttle to 6K and you sound like a funny car off the line.   yeah, HD named this thing Ultra for a reason, mine is ultra loud!   Hearing, what hearing!   I now ride with ear plugs on long road trips.  I have found the ear plugs dramatically reduce fatigue.    Why spend the bucks on baffles, hell man buy more chrome.
