Awesome pic. Great specs on that camera! How's it to travel with? Will it fit in Binx's bag ya think? Know it won't fit the windshield pouch. 18x zoom, that's great! Gotta go check this camera out. Thanks Duane!

Howie, it is a good travel size camera, and the 18:1 zoom is pretty cool. I've always been happy with the point & shoot Nikons.

I have had two...they hold up pretty well and take great pics.

I have been coveting a D50 or D70, just cant justify it with the amount of pics I would take.

Both of these are "OK" but older models. The D60 is an excellent replacement.

The problem with most entry level D-SLRs is that the "kit" lenses provided are usually crap, especially the Nikon's. I never really noticed until I bought my wife a Nikon N80 several years ago. Took me awhile to realize the problem with her pictures were the result of the junk lenses sold with the camera.

There is a reason your basic 28-80 lenses can be bought for $89 or $500.

Another shot, from my brothers house this balloon launch is just over a mile away as the crow flies. From his deck you needed binoculars to tell that is a pepsi can balloon.

Sorry Howie - haven't tried that yet. Don't recall if my wife has either. She has used my little HP pocket camera with mixed results. Some cameras are just too slow from the time you push the button to the picture processes. With my little HP I have - had a LOT of pictures of the gas tank, dash, road etc.

We'll try and give it a whirl this week. I like to stop and take pics, and for that reason I have that bag that mounts with magnets to the tank. Doesn't look that great but it keeps the camera ready.

The picture below was taken in the middle of the night, no lights on around the yard, pitch black, just letting the camera "auto" everything.

My wife doesn't sleep well - look at the time stamp.
