Duane, I'd like a little advise (for everyone else to see) about the Patriot Guard.  There is a mission this Saturday in my area and you've gotten my interest up.  I found the thread regarding the mission in the PGR forum.  Complete logistics haven't been worked out yet.  I'll join the forum.  Is joining a requirement?  Do you simply "show up" once the details are posted?  What are the actions/obligations of the PGR's?  I couldn't find a lot of info on the site for potential members.  TIA. Best I can say is just show up!

You'll fit right in soon enough. Look for a guy who has maybe only ONE PGR patch on, and ask him for some protocols. Or just follow the lead.

Odds are you'll meet someone you already know.

You do a couple of rides (they call them "missions") and you will get the hang of it.

Real big on flag lines, can't have too many.

The standard "preferred" is a 3x5. But any flag is better then nothing.

You can get collapsible flag poles now that are sold to PGR members at a reasonable price, and you can get some pretty fancy ones for permanent mount on the bikes for a pretty fancy price.

Membership is free, get on an email list for the events and just show up.

You will not regret it.

Seems like with most groups that you believe you have an interest in.  Show up, pitch in where you think you can, hold out your hand and introduce yourself.  Soon you are included.  Most folks like to invite people into their group, especially folks with big hearts.  Let us know what you think.

ya'll should try that out.  Living in Eugene, I never have a shortage of protesters that I don't like, and I try to join them whenever I can.  The sign I carry in the car just says, "We're all idiots.  Please throw money." 

Boy, some of those folks just don't have any sense of humor at all...

What you do is this...   "buy" your 6-8 year old darlings shirts like this, and take lots of pictures....   then when they turn 17, like mine just did, you can leave the pictures laying around for thier boyfriends to see...    omg what a hoot that was!   I think they just may show up at the wedding receptions too!
