Will This Fit
« on: February 17, 2008, 08:01:20 PM »

I have a 2006 SE fat boy. I have a guy that wants to sell me his mini back rest and detachable side plates off his 2000 fat boy, will it fit.  :nixweiss:

NO! the only thing that is of any use to you would be the detachables & you have to get a medium low bar 51477-06 & pad 51640-06

I am looking for the same setup you have on your bike with the small detachable backrest and the seat pillion. Do you have the part numbers for everything, side plates, sissy bar, pad, and seat. I pulled up the 51477-06 number but it looks taller than the one you have on your bike.

The set up I have now will not fit the 2006 wide ass, I am going to fit a 2006 wide ass to my 2005 soon, so I have looked into this & the part numbers I posted eairler are for the smallest/shortest sissy bar available that will fit the wider 2006 rear end. I have actually purchased them & yes they are a bit taller than the mini. If there was a mini sissi bar for the 2006 I think it would probably look a bit silly with the wide fender & narrow short pad. Maybe that is why they did not make oneto suit.

Hey,

I think we should add this Thread "Will This Fit?" as a sticky. I have some unusually potential answers stored up since the first time I laid my eyes on it.

" The set up I have now will not fit the 2006 wide ass" ----- does my butt look big in this sissybar?

It wont fit.2006 fatboys have 200 rear tire while 2005s have a smaller backtire. The only solution is what aussie said.Believe me i tried the other way round lol. :drink:
