Found it interesting MRMAGLOOM saved with Allstate. My buddy's an agent with them & I've had all my insurence with him for 35 years or more.I had all my bikes with them 'till I got the SEEG In 04 then they hardley wanted to talk with me.If I remember right they wanted over $650 instead of the less than $400 I pay with Harley. Now the radio is swamped with adds about how bad Allstate wants my motorcycle business & how cheap they are.Was wondering if they're running the same adds all over or just in my area.

jgeorge, The cost for my bike alone .07 SECU  with progressive (existing)

Body Liability 50/100                                     $165
property liability 25 ea accident
uninsured mo                                                   none
Comp.   500 deductible                                   157.
Collision 500 deductible                                 346.
custom pts.  up to 1000.                                   inc
Total                                                              $668.
Listed at 2500 annual miles (required listing in Ca) and no points
This includes discounts for 2 other bikes
The FLHX is $285. yr, the XR is 51. yr/
I realize I need to up my coverage considerably but when I list our annual millage (list 9000, actual 13,000.) and add ons, the cheapest Ins. I can find is $2000. yr.. As stated in my original question, my worry about listing 2500. annual miles is what happens if there is an accident at 2 years and the ins. co. expects the bike to have 5000. mi., and actual is 26,000 mi., are they going to Deni the claim. I realize other states do not require you to list annual milage so this may not apply to you. I have not tried to add my house and autos on the policy to see if rates are reduced.

BTW. were there really another 101 jgeorge's?

Good question.  It's not a lot different than adding a teenage offspring to your policy.  I asked my neighbor, an insurance adjuster, if it's mandatory and he told me it's not but if there is an incident the insurance co. may come back and either try to recoup what you weren't paying in the form of increased premiums or cancel the policy.  I'd be a little nervous about the mileage thing since it's an actual lie you would be caught in.  I think you'd still be covered either way though.  2,500 miles in a 12 month riding season is low.  I wonder what the $$ cutoff is on mileage.  I'd call and have them run some numbers at various mile intervals to see where the line is no longer linear.

JGeorge102 was assigned to me by AOL in 1995.  Apparently there were 101 before me.  I use it for everything.  I wasn't sure how often I'd be on the site and wanted to make sure I could remember my log in ID.  It might be time to change it now.  My one year anniversary is tomorrow.

Most insurance companies are mutual companies regulated by the state. Premiums are related to loss ratios. It can change by zip code. Areas of high theft, traffic accidents, or fire will make premiums vary. In Oklahoma uninsured - underinsured motorist pays for bodily injury only if the underinsured is at fault.

All insurance companies are regulated by the State Department of Insurance in the states they operate in.

Don't mean to argue, but most insurance companies are not "mutual companies", in fact only a small percentage of insurance companies are "mutual companies"
A "mutual company" is basically, by difinition:  An insurance company owned by its policyholders, who share in the company's surplus earnings.

I pay $522 per year for 2007 Road King Screaming Eagle via State Farm Insurance.
No mileage limits:
Coverage and Limits      Premiums
Bodily Injury $100K/$300K and
Property Damage $100,000      $77
Medical Payments $1,000      $36
$500 Deductable Comprehensive   $53
$500 Deductable Collision      $259
Uninsured Motor Vehicle
Bodily Injury $100K/$300K      $53
Underinsured Motor Vehicle
Bodily Injury $100K/$300K      $44
Total Premium         $522

My policy is bundled with four cars, bass boat and an umbrella policy.  I have two college students and wife on policy with me.
Home owner insurance as well as business, computers and jewelry (only way I can justify my fishing and riding pleasures!) are on different policies.

Things must be different here in Ca. Checking online quotes from Alstate, Farmers, State Farm, Formost, Progressive etc., all want an estimated annual mileage and add on values, To which the price increases dramatically as the mileage and add ons increase.

That is due to Garamindi (when he was insurance commissioner) getting the laws changed to where they couldn't charge based on a zip code.  Now they charge by estimated annual mileage.  I've always been pretty close on this.....just don't want the hassel down the road.

But then I saw something on the news last week to where the new insurance commissioner has approved a plan where the insurance companies will be allowed to offer a discount for those verifying their milage annually.  So, based on that, I'd think that they can't deny a claim because mileage is off from what was estimated.  And some years you'll ride more than others....for various reasons (maybe an accident prevented a couple months of riding so you have less or you took a cross county trip that added an additional 6,000 miles, etc.) .

Being from Calif. I would be curious which are the top two or top three contenders in your shopping around??
