Just got back from a little 90 mile ride that was the first ride after finishing the dyno tune. When the tune was begun the clutch crapped out before it was completed. Dyno run was mostly done at the time. But not quite.
Was at John Golden's this morning a bit before 9:00 to finish it up. As usual he did wondrous things on the mystical magic spinning machine.
Last time before the clutch started getting hot the bike saw something like 128 and change on the hp side and 116 and change on the tq side. Best thing of course was significant torque in early climbing throughout the cruise range.
Max numbers today peaked at just above where they were before on the torque side and a point higher on the HP side. Smoothed it out a bit too. Final tune brought the numbers down just a bit from max to 125-122 but should buy some decent fuel economy at highway cruise. Still have over 92 ft pds of torque 2500 and well over a hundred at 3k. 112, 118, 120 in each of the next 500 RPM increments.
It is fun to ride it now. The performance in the highway and interstate cruising RPMs is great for quickly buzzing around a truck. Think it will be a blast to ride in the mountains.
Long term reliability will of course only be proved by riding it more. But nothing is stressed so much that it should be a great concern. Anything can always just break tomorrow. But I'm willing to be optimistic about it right now.
