The deadcenter pops right off the rk windshiled mounts.  You do loose your am/fm presets when you unplug it but I use and ipod mostly.  Worth every pennt when rifding in the weather or through the storms of bugs we get in Florida.  Beats guys trying to look cool while getting the chite blasted outta them...

I know my answer to this and it drives my wife crazy. When I'm not riding, I'm spending money on it. As unique as the SERK is out the door, we all want to makes ours just a little bit different than the others.

I love the nostalgic look of the road king without windshield. Would I ride it that way?  No way.  I love that the great folks here have made themselves completely convertible bikes.  They can have it their way, anytime they want.  What ever floats your boats.  I have a choice in my own garage, road king or electra glide, but it is the glide I ride.

Isn't' it great that we can all have what ever it is we really want to have?

edited to add:  great to have what we want in our own rides........   ;)

With all you SERK guys going the route with hard bags and paying lots of money to get them to match and then some of you going the batwing route too, I don't get it...

Why didn't you just buy a SEUC and strip it down the your desired strippyness????  Not sure if that is a word...  :o :o :o

Just thought I'd ask.

As the say the only stupid question is the one you don't ask, but in my case this may be a stupid question.

Back on the original question that started this post...  :) I bought a SERK because I liked my previous (non SE) RK. And all the SEUCs my dealer was getting were already spoken for.  :( After I got the SERK I found out that I could have had one of the SEUCs because everyone on the list backed down.  ??? I didn't really like the Mutant Ninja TourPak though so I would have ended up changing that anyway.  :)

So now I'm adding hard bags -because the SERK bags are too small and have that stupid bracket thingy blocking half the opening. Next I'm adding a King TourPak -because it looks like it will hold about twice as much as my leather TourPak.  :bananarock: And the fact that I can lock everything up is a big plus too.  :pepper: And I'm putting the LED light kit inside the TP and adding the saddlebag LED lights so I can find stuff when it's dark.  ::)

I'm not particularly fond of the Fat Boy front fender on the '07 SERK, so one of these days when the Boss isn't looking I might put the old style front fender on -like the '08s have...  :P

I think everyone has their own idea of what to start with and what they want it to end up looking like, so if you're happy with your own bike that's probably the most important thing.  ;D  ;D

Don't look at gages, don't need them. :huepfenjump3:
Like to go topless at the beach  :orange:

If I want a real fairing I'll buy a road glide

Yip, that sorta sums it u for me. Had a RG and loved it, but it was not adaptable to different looks. Thus endeth the lesson...(thanks Hub).
