:huepfenjump3: :huepfenjump3: :huepfenjump3:  Fortunatly the weather was nice and I rode it home from State College, PA Harley Davidson 136 miles.  It was the best ride I have ever had!!!  See everyone at the York CVO factory tour in April...

At 500 miles I could not take it anymore..........the ultra sounds like a sewing machine (I am not kidding)  so pipes and new headers and Rush slip ons

are my destiny..........if I did not do this I would be heading toward Knoxville for the "Hoot" this spring

If it does not come off with a heat gun, I think I would make the stealer take it off >:(

Be carefull, the stealer may use a sander :o

I grew up outside Hershey, PA and was home in September to see ma for her 89th and we took her to the York regular tour-CVO is only once a year-but there were 6 FLHTCUSE at the test dyno and I knew it was my next scoot. Picked her up this Sunday is 3 weeks getting her slammed next week for my short 29 inch legs and we'll be good to!

What mods will you be making?  My inseam is 30", and the Ultra is a bit higher than I would like given it's weight.  I can ride it, but I have to be sure I don't lean it too far or stop where the bike is higher than where my legs would reach.

I have heard about wobble being more likely if you lower the bike because it changes the air flow.  If there was a way to not change or even to improve handling while lowering the bike I would absolutely do it.

I am getiing the moco lowering kit installed-lower profile rear shocks with slightly less travel-not an issue and shorter springs in the front tubes-should give me 2 " lower seat height w/o reducing ground clearance too much. i have a 2003  Screaming Eagle Road King Anniverssary model that came factory lowered and it was about 26" at seat. No wobble issues from that. There is a wobble that many notice mostly at sudden deceleration or in a turn while decelerating-I've heard it calle dthe Harley hula-it's that squirrelly wiggle that makes you suck some leather seat with a big pucker-I had an Indian that I slammed and the wobble was the same before and after-there is a kit you might check the websight for True Track and read the details-I am putting the rear True Track on with the lowering kit to give the drive train the third point of stabilizing Erioc Buell patented (according to the true track sight) makes sense-the moc stabilies front and top leaving the rear to "wobble"

I have heard that there are other types of suspension kits (Traxion or something similar) that improve handling.  I wonder if there are any non MoCo kits to lower the bike that might actually improve stock handling and or wheel travel.  There are a lot of lumpy roads around here and I would not want to bottom out any easier than I currently do.  I have finally found the right air shock setting so that I bottom out about as often as I top out going over these country roads.  I guess I could slow down, but what's the fun in that!

Hi megavolt17

We might not be in the same weightclass, but what about sharing your air shock setting,  could be a fine place to start fine tuning.

Ok folks.  I have just joined the ranks of the most blessed group of bike riders.  I have purchased an 08 #63 of 1700 CUSE3 and am thrilled at the purchase.  Only complaint I have is the seat on the bike is the pits and very uncomfortable.  A bike accident fours ago fractured my pelvis, tail bone and three lumbar vertabrae.  Can't ride over 100 miles without stopping and getting off.  HD hasn't seen fit to produce a comfortable seat like the Road Zepplin for the 08.  Does anyone know of a seat that will fit the  08 SE Ultra?  Talked to HD Customer Service and there are no plans to make a more comfortable seat.  I dearly love the bike, but the seat is giving me some grief for taking weekend rides.  HELP.

i use a stock harley police seat on my 07 ultra & have the tour pak moved forward for a backrest.. alternativley there is a mfg that makes a rear seat to go behind the police seat.

i have no idea if it will fit - i had to do some custom work to get the frame pan to fit properly - and had to order some special rivnuts etc - but nothing major.

very very comfortable - and the little air spring under the seat insures i almost never smack my back - even on the worst bumps.
