very cool my friend  good news !!!

Thanks Scot.  Since it's approaching 9 model years old I decided to do some basic maintenance before really putting it on the road.  And a bit of the shiny bits too.  Calipers are off for just a quickie rebuild.  One of them showed limited or no action on an inboard piston so just doing them all.  Adding Lyndall pads also.  The caliper kits are super cheap so it's not worth not doing.

Went ahead and put on the chrome master cylinder and handlebar clamps that were black.  While the hydraulics were open it seemed silly not to do it at the same time.

Got the EZ Clutch thing on the way and some shiny bolts to replace the stock dull ugly ones.  New windshield more appropriately sized should be here mid week.  Thank god the cam chest looked ok.  By mid to latter part of the week it should be completely refreshed and spruced up just a bit.  Hopefully the red bike's clutch is buttoned up by then too.

When was/is your dyno visit?

It's been at the shop all last week, but the SM decided to hold off until the tech that has more MM experience got back from class this week.  I was fine with that.  I'm having them put new speaker grills in the thing to replace the faded originals (did not have time or patience to learn how to remove a RG fairing) and the delay gave me a chance to realize I should pull the speakers from the SEEG and take to them to install while they're in there. :duhk:

My grills were the same way.  I ordered a set to go on whenever I get the inner painted or put in the garage door transmitter or whatever else becomes the first reason the outer is off.

Just noticed you'd written they were waiting for a Marelli guru.  Never quite sure why folks are so tentative around the M&M stuff.  I'm more concerned about M&M specific easy part availability a year or three down the road than diagnosing or repairing.

Too funny.  Just wondering about parts availability and almost at the same moment got email saying I'd won an eBay auction.  Complete 2000 one piece throttle body/intake off a touring bike from fuel injectors to air cleaner for $49.99.

Strip it down for small spares to be carried on the bike then some rainy weekend polish the bejeezus out of the core itself for installation on the bike.  Nice shiny parts :huepfenlol2: :drink: .

Let's not be calling him a "guru" until he gets me 90 ft/lbs. :nixweiss: :huepfenlol2: :drink:

They show up fairly often like that, I've noticed.  I almost bought one back around Christmas time, but passed.  Can't beat that for a price.  I don't think the one I was watching went that low.

Sounds prudent :drink: .  What's the butt dyno leading you to expect?

All I know is that sometime this spring Golden will tune this one.  Whatever is in there John will find.  He doesn't mind Marelli at all.  It's nice to know that there a tuning option that is just going to get whatever's there, do it quickly in a minimal amount of runs, and not get anything wrong.

I noticed it listed a few days ago.  Opening bid was $49.99 and, apparently, no one bid on it but me.  Have no idea what it's worth but a set of (supposedly) 7000 mile injectors and other small bits should be worth that much just to have with me.  Dealers carry less and less we need to carry more and more.  Polishing out the casting will just be a side bennie.

Should be able to pick up 10TQ doing the air cleaner and a custom tune, I would hope, so if I end up somewhere around 85 - 90, I'll be happy.  The driveability was really good on mine with the stock setup, so I hope not to loose any of that, just pick up some more HP & TQ.  Whatever they can do will be fine for this season and then hopefully, next winter (or the one after that, depending on how many miles I rack up on it this year) brings gear driven cams and another tune.

This one already had the Stage I AC and download.  It is surprisingly non-sucky as is.  The trip to Golden whenever I get around to it will be as much for curiosity/confirmation as it will be for improvement.  But will take any extra he might deliver :drink: .

Mine with the Propipe, breather and P/C was 92 H/P and 103T.
Was at 105 T but changed baffles in the PP to get the dip out of the bottom.

Wish I could find an outer muffler section. Outer muffler section has that gold tint because the original owner never have it tuned. No such part listed on any V&H site that I have found.

How early does it come in Chip?  Seems like quite commendable numbers overall for a 95 that's had nothing but externals messed with.

Good tuner Don. Good tuner.
You know about those I know.
It's a gradual uphill climb.
But at least now no dip from 2200 to 2800.
