Just split your tunes up into different playlists of less than 1,000 each and it works just fine.
Don't have cards that will hold over 1k songs, and this info was coming from the Zumo forum. Are you saying you have over 1k songs on a card and it's been able to read them?

AC/CD, Def Leppard, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Guns and Roses, Foreigner, Led Zeppelin, Cheap Trick, Hank Williams, Montgomery Gentry, Trace Adkins, Toby Keith, Johnny Cash, Kid Rock, Heart, Joan Jett, Fleetwood Mac....

If you hadn't thrown in the Hank Williams, it was looking like you were dabbling in my MP3 files!

Yes!  It cannot read more than 1,000 songs at once, so if your tunes are not split into playlists, it cannot read them all.  If you select a playlist that has 999 songs it will read them fine and then select the next playlist with 1,000 or less songs, it will read them fine as well and so on.

I think around 2,400 split into 3 playlists of about 800 each.

Gary,

Download a free copy of Media monkey www.mediamonkey.com and then you can create your own playlists and then "Sync" them to your SD Card.  You can also do some pretty neat stuff with oversampling and reducing file sizes without sacrificing too much sound quality(not noticeable) to get more in less space!

OCD has many forms!

True it does. Now I'm going to have to get some more music too. BTW - If you don't know about it already Limewire is a great program to get "free" music. It is peer to peer sharing of music so you have to be careful when downloading (make sure you have up to date virus protection and you scan all files before using).

One must have: Allman Brothers/Live at The Filmore East...best live recording ever done, period.  Derek and The Dominos; Joe Cocker (certain cuts); Led Z; SRV; Grateful Dead (of course); Skynyrd; Traffic; Dianna Krall; Josh Stone; Marshall Tucker Band; The Band; Fourplay; Craig Chaquito (former guitarist from Jefferson Starship); Baron Von Tollbooth and The Chrome Nun (a bunch of San Fran members who got together for one album...Garcia, Papa John Creach (sp?), David Crosby, Grace and the then members of the transition from Airplane to Starship, Pointer Sisters, several others); Quicksilver Messenger Service; Spirit; Eagles; Don Henley; Hendrix; CSNY; New Riders of The Purple Sage....etc.

To name a few...
