Does anyone know if it is possible to make a stock SE exhaust just a little deeper sounding?

I knocked the catalytic convertors out of mine.  Sound wise, it did not make a lot difference.  It is louder but not much.  I would say it flows better.

The stock exhaust (mufflers) do get louder as you get some miles on the bike.

I installed V&H Dresser Duals on mine and sounds slightly louder but more like a Harley.  Also by installing V&H Fuelpak with the dresser duals it has cooled the engine down.

Send them off to Fullsac, http://www.fullsac.com/touringmufflers.html, and have them recore them for you.  I don't have any experience with them, but there are some on here that have used them.

Hey Charlie -
I do have experience with FullSac.  I put mine on the Jester when I finally got her out of the shop.  Finally able to get some miles on the ol' girl and I really like the sound of the "worked" mufflers.  I also like the looks of the stock 4" cans much better than the SPOs (sorry Howie  ;)).  My SPOs are available if anyone's looking for a set.
I do like the FullSacs.  Deeper tone.  Decent rumble under acceleration, but very "soothing" at highway speeds.  I like them alot.

Hey Tony,
Great to see you back online...I'll be anxious to hear how the stock cans sound with the Fullsac recore.  I do like the looks of the stock cans.  I still have mine in the basement.

Charlie,
This wedding stuff is keeping us pretty busy.  I'm having a little success getting some miles on during the week riding to work.  Close to having the break-in done AGAIN.  Bike is running much quieter (no sewing machine noise from the rocker boxes  >:() and ride is much smoother - like that IDS.  When it looks like I'll have some free time on a weekend, we'll give you a shout and see if we can't meet up at Carl's in F'burg and go for a scoot.
Best,
Tony

Tony,
Totally understand about the wedding plans dictating everything...been there, done that.... ;)  I still haven't had any issues with my ride yet (knock on wood), and you're right, the IDS really smooths out the ride alot.

We got plenty of time to get out and ride, so tend to the wedding plans...it's a very special day, especially for us Dads. ;)

We're looking forward to it.  I keep threatening to ride the Jester down the aisle - planning for an outdoor wedding.  I think the rumble would go nicely with the wedding march  ;).
As the weather keeps improving, we'll make time to get together.  Most of the plans are complete - just passing time til the momentous day!

Tony,

Do you have any dyno numbers with these re-cored mufflers?

Thanks  :)
