Howie, tell me about this new SE compensator. I may need to look at that too before it goes back together tomorrow.

Screamin' Eagle® Big Twin Compensator; P/N 40274-08; Fits '07-later Twin Cam models; MSRP US $249.95.

Disassembling/reassembling motor. Gotta send the Feuling parts and cams back to Feuling. They said they'd make good on all parts. Hopefully they'll see the lifter and there'll be no problem. They've always been great to deal with. The S&S 625G cams and checking/resetting spring pressure are the only minor design change. Other than that, the new Feuling parts, and new bearings, gaskets and seals, everything else will get reused. Will recrosshatch the cyls and use new rings. And a really good cleanout!!!

I'm trying the new SE Compensator and leaving the clutch alone for now.

Nothing major at all. Ran good before. Hopefully a lil better now. ;)

Hope they agree, it sounds like the lifter was first thing to go! How was the spring pressure, when you pulled the heads?

Good luck! Craig

Not sure if this was a good dream or a bad dream.  And probably don't remember all the details.  But had a dream last night about Cybil and what the picture in my head is of Vern's shop.  Cybil was setting there on a nice looking shop floor all shiny and ready for a ride.  But stretched out as far as the eye could see in this winding line behind it were twin cam engines stretching to a fadeout.  All the engines wore labels.  Consecutive labels of Winter 2008, Winter 2009, Winter 2010, Winter 2011.  I think it was 100 years worth ??? .

I'm sure they were nice engines Howie.  Just think about it though.  Would be cool to have things prepped for two hour engine R&Rs whenever you felt like it.  I'm sure all the motors must have been a Christmas present from Binx.  Hey, she probably put two or three more bikes in the garage too (along with the cot).

There are at least 3 interpretation's of 2LR's engine dream other than the cot scenario.

The MoCo reads here, has read this thread, figured Hoist was the best guy to give a V Twin air cooled motor a TRUE road test, and then decided to offer Hoist a HUGE salary to road test all HD engine prototypes for years and years ahead.  My favorite interpretation.

Or, 2LR is planning/dreaming to sell HD V-Twin engines and figures Hoist has the potential to be one of his best customers.

Or......Earlier that day at lunch 2LR  ate a big chilli dog with extra onions and beans with a very, very large slice of pie.......

Howie

Sorry to hear about Cybil. Have over 10000 miles on my CycleRama build. Still not making the torque or HP it should but no other problems. Everyone that has ridden her is impressed with how well it runs at the bottom end.

May look into some possible fixes this winter. T-Man??? That's who my builder recommended in the first place. May leave well enough alone.

Good luck with your latest build.

Thanks JW!!! This was a fluke. Everything was all good here until the lifter/cam failure. It'll be good again before long. Hopefully even better! :2vrolijk_21:
