I too felt like you. That WAS until two weeks ago when my $30,000 ride began to LEAK! Good luck and I hope your optimism precludes you from the HD money machine.

Don't get ahead of yourself there Howie. It's not all gloom and doom yet. Your dealer might actually have his act together. Let's see what they're willing to do first! ;)

Nah it's not doom and gloom. I do however think it's reasonable to be disappointed with the fact that HD has continued to manufacture these expensive rides disregarding the fact they had a known problem leftover from the prior model year (07). Encountering a manufacturing problem on a new product is not uncommon and is almost understandable. To continue to send these out is inexcusable a year later. Unless of course your profits trump your customer service!

Yep, been saying that since last spring. It's obvious now how the MoCo is handling this issue. And like we said last week, it is what it is! We all deal with it in the way we're most comfortable! ;)

You got it. When my son came home from college on spring break he drove over to the shop to service his truck out, when he walked in I was sitting on the springer, he walked over and got on the streetglide and said where our we riding too. I said lets go through Dark Canyon and over to Sitting Bull falls, so in our mindset we took off, hey look at those deer, he said man that one is a nice buck, I said he would look good with my crosshairs on his front shoulders we laughed. Well his mother had walked in and we had not noticed  she said Oh good lord what did I marry and what did we raise. So the ride ended to soon and we walked out of the shop into the cold blowing wind and got in her car and went to eat. But it was a good ride while it lasted  :pepper:

Great story!! I was right there with you! :2vrolijk_21:

and there it is!! Thats exactly what people are referring to. I don't think it's so much complaining as it is frustration because we do actually love the bikes so much. I'm trying to hurry and get another 8k on mine so it will leak and I can get the B gasket! :P

My 07 leaked, marked its territory and, then died, was replace by another motor.
But through it all, I love the machine for when it does run right. If only I could get more distance for riding. :2vrolijk_21:

I almost did not buy my SE2 105th because of some of the post. I am glad I did not listen and bought it. I did have an issue and had to take it in 2 times. With that, service addressed the problem and it is running well. I like the looks.. I like the sound... I like the power. I had some work done at the time, would this increased odds of oil leak, maybe.. I am tired of reading the negative, if you like it buy it... This is not a 0-60 in 2 seconds.. This is not a bike the has your legs in your stomach.. This is a bike that shacks the house when started.. This is a bike that feels like it should be between my legs, sounds a little strange to say that, but it just fits.... It is a bike that I love to look at and ride. It is a bike that others wish they could have. It is bike that people stop and come over to look at. I have the 105th paint job.. The gold trim is crazy!! I love the look. I like the other 2 colors also. Will it hit the shop again, it might, but I don't care! I will be calling each day to find out when she is ready. At this time, I don't expect to have her in the shop anytime soon. 1000 mile oil change is coming. will dyno and play with baffles. Change your head gasket if you have the 110ci and enjoy the power if you get it unlocked from stock. This post is to talk about the positive.. This board seems to be like the news in many cases.  :soapbox:

I've had my share of problems, broken the drive belt at 900 miles, getting a new tank because of a paint defect, and just discovered an oil leak between the two jugs at just 2500 miles.  Took it to the dealer four days before I go to Myrtle Beach Bike Week.  They said have a good week be safe and bring her back when you return.  My mind set is that this is why I have a warranty.  I love this bike, the wife loves it, and everyone gives you compliments like never before.  None of my friends can keep up with her.  I ride this bike like a would a 21 year old porn star (female)!!!

The more things change the more they remain the same. Here is a picture my 48 pan springer marking his territory.

Update:

At 2300 on new engine, runs and sounds great. Not marking its territory yet. Fingers and toes are still crossed . :huepfenjump3:

Got mine March 26, 2008, am in Sedona at the GTG right now. Rode out from Texas, just passed the magic 5k milage mark and no leaks. Bike runs great and gets 38~43 mpg on the highway. The speed limits in West Texas are 80, Arizona is 75 so passing the big trucks at 90 is no problem with my SERK. Fantastic bike so far.

8500 bucks later, an 30 MPG, and Cybil runs like an MF! FTF & FTW, I'm happy with her now!!! Thanks for nuthin' HD. You'll never make a bike like Cybil! And it wasn't very difficult either. You got it mostly right. Now get your head out of your asses and fix the rest of it!!! Like you're not capable! ::) ;)
