The issue with that info is that according to the rep, HD believes in the gasket which we now know has failed numerous times.  I still cannot be too optimistic hear, but we appreciate the news, any news.

The rep i spoke with yesterday also had their stock in the latest gasket and was adamant the problem fixed.  Unfortunately they did not have the part number available, but i'd assume it is the 07B.  Given that discussion I don't think they have a solution yet, but then again this was just somebody that sits at a desk does their best to cool down angry customers.  I guess it could have been worse, i could have gotten transfered to some answering service in India like most companies do nowadays.

Im w/twolane on this. J ust buy a low mileage 04 or 05 seeg in the color you like and ride the wheels off of it. Doesnt make sense to spend 40k and have problems. Its too bad the 110 owners have to deal with HDs problems but most still love the bike enough to deal with it. At 30000 miles mines never been to the dealer. :bananarock:

I think you need to decide if the dealer is one that will go to the wall for you if you have a problem. He's the guy that will get you the farthest with the MOCO. HD has to stay tight lipped about this until they have an answer or they hurt themselves worse . This could fall under the lemon law in allot of states and that is the last thing they want. I believe they will anti up when they have a sure fix, it is there premier line up and they will want to keep it so.
Just my thoughts for what it's worth

I have used this dealer for years. He is great to work with. Provides good discounts on parts and in fact has offered this bike at MSRP. He would work for me if anything were to happen to the motor. My initial concern was if the MOCO can't fix this problem what are my choices to get it fixed aftermarket  and if they can fix it how long will it take to get it right. I find it hard to believe they won't figure it out, even if they need Porche to assit them at some point. They are ashamed to admit they have a problem, after all they are H-D.

buy a regular ultra if you want an ultra...the 110 motor has issues...I think that 5 years from now a SE may be worth more than a stock but customized ultra, but only if they have fixed the problems with the engine...I bought mine in August of 2006 and the reason I bought the SE ultra was because I liked the paint and figured it would hold it's value better than my totally tricked out 01 ultra did...basically got only about a 10% return on all the customization I had done to the bike...and as far as the 105th anniversary edition bikes, even the 100th anniversary bikes are really not worth any more than the 2003's of the same type, and if anything was going to hold it's value it would have been that version.  I buy em to ride em and that is not working out very well with my flhtcuse2.

Thanks for all the input. After considering your comments, I decided to buy #1258. I understand the risk, I like the options on the bike and go into this with my eyes open. Any other bike, no matter how great it looks is'nt a screamin eagle. I had a beautiful 07 blues brothers ultra....it still wasn't an SE. I wanna be part of the SE club.... now I am.  :2vrolijk_21:
