Hi again all, I've just spent some more money on what my wife considers toys. I consider it a necessity to have fun with my toys.
I had been downloading build yourself motorcycle lift pictures and seeing what plans are available. I considered the one in the first picture, but when I figured all the steel and the 1/2 dozen nights at work it would take me to build it, I looked elsewhere.

I looked at the ones advertised in the bike mags but they were more money than I wanted to spend. I then looked at Harbor Freight, one of our popular suppliers for misc cycle tools and just plain stuff. If I were a shop using this everyday with lots of different style bikes, I would look for a better one and spend the money. But as other have said about some of the tools they buy from them to use just once or twice a year, I thought it would be worth the look.
They have them on their website for $399 and at the store display they have them at $389. I found a catalog left at the store from someone else that was there and I found it for $299 in that add. They had one for display buy didn't have any in stock. The other south county store had a display and two in stock. So I went home and got my truck and went back to buy one. When they rung it up it said $287 so I got an even better deal.
My first project yesterday was a Honda Helix. Okay, it's not mine, just a friend of a friend thing and I had to get it running. I just rode it over to the house for the guy, what a trip.
I now have my '76 FLH up on the lift and I'll be pulling the tanks and front head to see what my lack of compression and rattle is.
Anyway, it lifted the FLH without issues and it's rated for 1,000#. It's easy to use for a foot pump and it has provisions for an air line so you can use it with air as well.
Take a look.

I think it will work out very well for me on the FLH and then the board track will take up home on it until finished.
Let me know if anyone has any questions.
Later dudes and dudettes...
