Not meaning to impugn your info but is the source in the home office someone 'in the know' or just someone in customer service answering the phone?

John in Customer Service. He stated that in all there weekly meetings that topic had never been brought up and that nothing had been flowed to them in CS. It could be in upper management but no wind of that through your basic CS.

Thanks.  I would think it would not be announced to CS before it was communicated to the dealers.  I'm still standing by the info I was given Apr 25th that a fix would be announced within 60 days.

As I persued this issue with Harley yesterday they got down right nasty about this rumor and sent my dealer a bulletin dated 3-3-08 stating that the only repair to the 110 motor is the 07B carbon gasket for the heads and a new lower gasket for the cylinder base. The torgue on the head gasket is the same torque that has always been there and no increase of torgue has been approved. I give up and I guess it will be a month or so that I will due without the bike and they will get it done on there own time. I am now in the BLACK HOLE OF HARLEY!!!!!!!!!!

I would propose hittin them where it hurts,,,T shirt and accessory sales...I have not bought any in a few years and will continue my one man march against the Aholes in Milwaukee, and some folks are riding up there to pay homage..??

They did this with the new twin cam, the shovel, pan, knuck and flattie, nothing will change.  The evo was thier big mistake...It ran hard and strong, so it had to go.

Love the Evo too, but it also had it's share of problems early on. Base gasket sealing, cam bearings, and cylinder studs pulling were just 3 of them. They stood behind it and straightened it out..............................................EVENTUALLY. They were still replacing cases from early Evos in the late 80's and early 90's.

They will EVENTUALLY fix these 110's. But not before you wanna blow your brains out waiting for it to happen, while you keep running back and forth for fake fixes of non-existent problems and to put up with all the BS and inconvenience that goes with it. That's why I just buy the bike, then FTF & FTW!!! I tried to deal with it the HD way in the beginning. But once I saw that I had seen this movie before and hated the ending, I wasn't interested in the sequel!!!

That there is no company prescribed "final fix" is no great surprise.  Given Harley's ability to close-hold information and that they just don't say much to anyone until they're ready to the fact of a rumor of such a fix was more evidence against it then for it.  Their history is also significantly against a mandated, prescribed, fix-them-all response.  No matter how bad it might be they'll still wait until the fail and limp through the responses.  Owners be damned.  It's just what they do...
