I had heard someone in the past shoot out an aprox # of 1 ton before and I had just passed that off as absurd... but you got me thinking so I googled it.... and wow I came up with the aprox weight for the paint after it has dryied for the new boeing 787 is aprox. 2000 lbs......

I had heard that that is the reason why American Airlines planes were polished with only the stripes for color. 2000lbs, takes a lot of fuel to move that.
