FlynDyna, BIGDOG and our good friend Jorge - thank you all for your kind thoughts and prayers for Mike.  I spoke with my brother late yesterday and they've reduced the oxygen to 60% (a very good thing).  So far no additional clot issues.  They were hoping to take him off the ventilator today or tomorrow, couple more days in the ICU, then to a step down room for a few days.  When we think about how bad it could have been, we're very thankful he's doing as well as he is.
Again - thanks for you thoughts and prayers.
Jorge - please give Martha our best,
Tony

Thanks mi amigo....hoping that you nephew gets well every day

Latest update - Mike was taken off the ventilator on Thursday.  Breathing fine.  Still in ICU as of Friday evening.  Expect to move to step down over the weekend.  Doctors still feel he'll make a full recovery - just slowed somewhat because of the embolism.
Again - thanks everyone for the thoughts and prayers.
All the best,
Tony

He's getting the best care possible if he's in Birmingham.  Hope all goes well and he recovers very soon.

I know all to well the experience of a crash personally and my family members. Glad things are turning for the better. Take care and hope he is back on track. I hope his bike can make a speedy recovery as well.

Latest,
Michael is out of the ICU, out of the hospital and at a rehab center in Birmingham.  He was walking with the aid of a walker before he left the ICU - really great news!  It seems his right leg was "not cooperating" as he thought it should, but the doctors and therapists all thought his progress was amazing in any event.  He accomplished the "big #2", so all the plumbing is working as designed and he's in good spirits.
He's made the decision not to ride any more.  Not sure what that will mean with respect to his job with Harley in Talladega - but that will sort itself out.  ALL his medical expenses were covered through the MoCo insurance AND he continues to be paid.  I certainly can't say that Harley isn't treating him right.
His bike - 1997 Road King Police is for sale - it will be fully repaired (apparently the only major problem was the front forks).  Has about 40K on the speedo and was never "in service" as a police bike.  Bought new in 1998 in Birmingham when the PD there realized they had overbought.  Not ridden until Michael bought it about 2 years ago.
Not sure what he's asking for it, but if anyone's interested, shoot me a PM and I'll gather more details.
Thanks to everyone for your thoughts and prayers - this one seems to be turning out better than most.

Outstanding news. He may feel differently about riding after he heals a bit more and I certianly understand and support his choice.

Please give him regards for a speedy and full recovery!
