My T-Max with autotune just left me on the side of the road after it refused to keep my bike idleing in hot temps. In addition, after the bike cooled off and and I was able to get it going I lost my speedo, tach, and all my dash lights came on at 70mph. I took the bike to a dealer 700 miles from home and they looked at me like I was an a$$ when I told them I was NOT running the stock ECM. They told me to put my extended warranty card away because anything found wrong would be blamed on the T-Max which would void any warranty. I had my wife overnight my stock ECM, stock O2 sensors, and race tuner. The dealer pulled the Zippers stuff off my bike and re-installed the stock stuff ($461.00) :soapbox:. They also dynoed the bike and made me a custom map. The bike ran perfectly for the remainder of our road trip.

Zippers has a great idea with their product and they are standing behind it 100% regarding my problems. I will personally never use their products again but that is mainly due to the problems you WILL run in to when a dealer or the MOCO finds out about it being used on your machine. If I didn't have an extended warranty I would most likely give the T-Max another shot.

Wow...that story is EXACTLY the reason why I am pulling mine off and going back to the SERT.  That, and the fact that the turn signals don't work properly with the TMAX.  I travel a lot in the southeast on my bike, and none of the dealers that I visit know anything about the TMAX.  I'm in the process of finding the best tuner for the SERT within about 250 miles of me so I can carry the it to him for a good tune, then I'm sticking with it.  That way I can stop carrying the ECM with me everywhere I go in case the TMAX chits the bed...

had a 03 flhtc the other day with no turn signals and the check engine light on , throttle position sensor code. the turn signal was the thunder max,  but i thought i would take a look instead of blaming the t-max and this is what i found. broken throttle shaft. the customer then told me he installed the t-max becouse it wasn't running right. it runs good now but he still has no turn signals.                axil

My turn signals work, they just won't self-cancel with the TMAX.  The problem only occurs on some bikes.  Zippers knows of the problem, but they don't know what to do about it. (or don't care...maybe both).

Had the Tmax on for 2 years, autotune for 1.5years and love it.  On long trips I always carry the stock ECM in static bag bubble wrap just in case of any issues. No more setting the IAC stops!! :orange:  Ride safe!
