I started to write 'I would not touch that line with a 10 foot pole', and almost stopped myself in time before I wrote it.

So the mindless sheep that are the core of H-D Inc's business forked over well in excess of $330,000 to big oil, re-upped on their mindless obeisance to the MoCo and garnered several million dollars worth of free publicity for them. And some of the same site members that rant about the poor quality of H-D Inc products and the need for better quality, better service, lower prices ad nauseum no doubt were part of this fiasco. Ain't that sweet  >:(

I did not ride, but wish I had & reported the mileage, just so I could be different than the norm here.

Well, I went out and rode with about 10 other folks yesterday...didn't care that it was for the million mile ride or not (it was by the way).  I had a great day of riding with great people and THAT'S what it's really about.   ;)  Wasn't going to give up riding just because HD was having a promotion.

Jorge,
No offense mi amigo, but this idea seems like it will

 A) further line the coffers of big oil

B) Garner H-D Inc a ton of free publicity

C) Give H-D Inc one more reason to view their customers as mindless sheep.

Count me out

In my 40 years of riding motorcycles I've been on every side of this debate. .......... And your comments about Outlaw Bikers. Exactly what do you mean by that ? I flew a 1% patch for 15 years and now these days,  I'm a walking advertisement for Harley-Davidson. I can tell you in all honesty, .......... This entire thread sounds like somebody put a bug in the lounge area of a retirement home set on a golf course.  :soapbox:

B B

I did ride on Monday, as I do almost every day.

Hunter

You've taken quotes from different conversations (threads) edited them to suit your purpose and then pretended you've made a point.

For the sake of world peace and site harmony, do as you please, that's what being a biker is all about.

Sent you a PM so as to keep this DA discussion off the public forum

Keep your knees in the breeze dude

I'm not sure about wasting oil by taking your bike to work or errands.  My bike gets at least twice the mileage of my truck, so how's that bad?
I always grab the bike weather permitting.  Owning an expensive toy is offset in my head by being green.

Hey ISKI! I went.................

Rode to Nashville, TN. Left the group and went to visit two cousins and brother in Sparta. Cousin knew a guy selling his bike and trailer. Bought a dreamy 7X14 toy hauler with air and canopy. Made a new freind. He brought me, my bike & trailer home. Spent the day showing him the big city. Now just one day left before ime to take off for the 4th. Check out his bike in 3rd party selling. 2004 Heritage with SE.  :P :P :P

BigR - I would have gone, but had to work.  Any reason to ride is a good reason.  Big plus for you - you made a new friend!  Have looked at toy haulers but the BSR/boss/she who must be listened to or I shall surely regret it/lovely wife says she does not like camping anymore.  Enjoy the camper - bet it will be a lot of fun!

Yep, Wife says the same here. Now have to find someone to pack the truck, get the food, clean the trailer, cook the food, wax the boat, lfuel the boat, load the floats, get some extra fuel for he plane, set up the camp and entertain the guest...... while I go get the Ultralight  and land on the beach.  :(   Why does't your wife like to camp? :P
