If it sounds to good to be true it probably is...  See this recent thread.

http://www.cvoharley.com/smf/index.php?topic=23089.0

You're probably right- I went to www.shopcartusa.com  Searched for Zumo 550 and they came out as the lowest price- On there are also ratings- THey had 6018 'ratings' as a five star vendor.. :confused5:..After i looked at some of them it seemed fake.  On the LHS of the same page was a link to a site called reseller ratings or something where camera addict was rated 0.57 out of 10!! :nervous:

I didn't buy from anyone yet...internet shopping is definitely 'caveat emptor'- PC Nation looks pretty good based on everyone here!

THanks

Thanks to 00d, with his exact list of where to buy Zumo, and all of the necessary components, I have everything on it's way, should be receiving today or Monday.
I have decided to wire directly into bike rather than use the Cig. Lighter Plug, exactly what is involved in finding the power source in Fairing, have never had it apart, and also while I am doing that, has anyone used the XM on the Zumo rather than on bike, It seams that it would be better since I am assuming that voice comands coming from Zumo will overide the XM Music coming from Zumo. And if so can you connect the antenna source currently being used on the bike to the Zumo.

What is everyone doing in these applications? :nixweiss:

If you use the Zumo XM then you will get the navigation prompts overriding the XM. Your radio will be in the Aux position and the navigations would override the XM. You can't use your current XM antenna on your Zumo it has to have it's own (GXM-30) which is actually more then just an antenna it's the XM receiver.

For Hardwiring the Zumo, how difficult is it to take fairing apart to find power source?
Never had it apart before. :nixweiss:

Here is a thread (of many) for instructions - Eglide fairing removal  and  here is a picture of the screws that need to be removed to get the front off...

Hey Sawyerghost, if you already have a XM radio, you'd be spending duplicate dollars to get the Zumo XM (radio/antenna combination).  Unless you were for some reason very unhappy with your present radio, I'd just use that one.  :) spyder

Hey dood,
I received everything x-cept (Screw, On it's way) and I have decided to wire directly under fairing.
Question on the Techmount, it seems that there is not a position that does not block the Fuel Gauge.
Is this an issue for you , or am I not pivoting around enough? :nixweiss:

Thanks for all of your Help!

It will be partially blocked but no biggie. The Zumo has a settable fuel gauge on it that's a lot better then the inaccurate MoCo fuel gauge. You can set the fuel gauge for whatever mileage you want and when you pass that mileage a screen will pop up that says low fuel. You can hit an icon and it will tell you the closest fuel stations you then can choose which one you want and get directed to it. You'll never have to worry about the inaccuracy of the fuel gauge or getting the "Oh Chit" feeling when you finally see the low fuel icon lit in speedo gauge.

Couple of other things to get you started go here to make sure the latest owners manual came w/your Zumo, and check this out to help you learn mapsource - Mapsource Tutorial.

I mounted mine on the right instead of the left. I don't see much in the way of advantage or disadvantage when using the zumo but the cable to the aux port on the radio is cleaner. It won't block your fuel gage if it's on the right.

only issue i see is when pressing buttons on the Zumo you either release the throttle
or go across your body with your left hand (or be in cruise)  Left works better for me
