If your looking for more light I installed an led strip on the tour pack luggage rack combo brake/tail/running that gives lot more light at the rear.THE MUFFMAN

AJ

I'm sure the "we" is a lot of people, but that "we" doesn't include "me".
Have a good day buddy!

I guess it's a good thing you don't own an '06 or '07!

I guess the leather does help to identify the bike as a CVO. But, I didn't like the way it wrinkled up like an old lady when it sat in the rain overnight. I had enough protection on it, I thought, that would protect it sitting out there all night. . . nadda!   It did tighten up once it got dry. The leather isn't a big issue, since like I mentioned, I've got a black Bushtec that holds just about everything a guy could want. But, was just a thought to see a ninja tour pack painted.

The other reason was if I had a hard shell instead of the leather, might be easier to mount some tail lights so that I can be seen at night. I like to be seen and the one tail light seems to be a bit insufficient. I did change it out for a LED tail light which seemed to have helped in the "being seen" category.

John,
I got the saddle bag lid fairing LEDs and they definitely help light up the rear end too.  They stay on in a running light mode but get brighter when the brakes are applied.  Added to changing my turn signals in the back to running, turn, break lights and it's brightened up the back of my bike considerably.

Sorry for not getting back to see your post. I've been putting in hours getting the rally up and running for this weekend. I'll be glad when it's overwith, waaaaayyyyy too much work!  Anyway, your idea of saddle bag lid LED's is great and I think that's just what I'll do. Do you have the part number for the kit that turns the turn signals to brake lites and running lights. The ones I've found at the dealership apparently won't work per the sales people. Something about sending codes or something..... :nixweiss:

Anyway, I'll be going down next week and take a look at the saddle bag lid LED's.

I've seen these and they do put out some light. I saw some that where white/clear in color and lite up red for braking. I thought they were very bright, but haven't found any on the net that were precut. If you have some information, please let me know. I'm open to several great suggestions  mentioned in this thread. I'm looking at the LED saddle bag lights too.  Options. . .  Hopefully, in a week or two I should have no reason not to be seen. Thanks to all of you.

Here's the conversion kit that the dealership installed on my Jester:  69462-06A  It claims it's not DOT approved when installed on the FLHTCUSE, but I don't know why.  It works fine on my bike and no codes showed up.  The saddle bag LED wings are part number:  58606-99+2 letters for the color code.  There is a color code for Black Ice and it's somewhere on the forum here, but I can't find it.  The HD dealer has the code for the saddle bag lights.  It took about 6 weeks for mine to get in after I ordered them, but worth the wait.
