Table lifts
« on: June 03, 2008, 02:01:42 PM »

Looking at these 2 lifts, Directlift Pro Cycle & also the pantherlift which has the drop out rear section. Can get the panther lift for $560.00 w/o any sales tax.

The Directlift is gonna be 622.00 w/tax.

Which lift is better. The Panther only goes up 30" & the Direct 33"

           I agree completely
                                        BUT

You can buy a Handy clone from Western Mfgr for around $1,000

Not a Handy true, but not bad, not bad at all. Beagle's gone one and it is well made and works well

Send a PM to Screamin_Beagle. As I said, he's got one, he should have the contact info. He and I drove to Palm Springs to pick his up and saved a bundle on shipping. All it cost him was lunch and gas and this was over a year ago so gas wasn't an arm and a leg

What he said.  :2vrolijk_21:  My SAM 1000, vise, extensions, lift dolly, and low boy jack totaled $1440 and change shipped.  Sure, Handy costs more.......but they make good stuff.

BB, I contacted Western before I bought the Handy. They no longer offer bike lifts.

You know I told Beagle when we picked his up that it surprised me Handy didn't sue Western because it was obvious the Western was almost a perfect copy of the Handy.

Suppose that's what happened ?

Anyway, typical Beagle - - - - - -get in, get the deal and get out before anyone else has even heard about it.   8)

Never play poker with the guy  ;)

Maybe, they told me they couldn't compete price wise in the market.  Got a good deal on my SAM 1000 so no complaints.

Maybe they just didn't get the word out. Advertising is expensive. The one Beagle bought is a high quality lift. He paid $750 and as I said we drove to Palm Springs to pick it up, so there was no shipping. He also bought a top shelf sissors jack from the guy for $100 I believe that you could probably jack a corner of a house with. As explained to us, the Western owner had been a Handy employee who went started his own business. He did change a few things from the Handy BOB 1500 I have and Beagle thought it was enough to clear patent issues. The lifts were Mfg'd in Argentina so his labor costs were low, but shipping probably did him in. I expect that Beagle was one of only a few original customers to buy one at that price. When we picked his up, you could see the guy had just opened up the business. Stuff piled in boxes in the front office etc etc although, the warehouse was stacked to the rafters with product. Too bad, these were a good deal
