Bagger wobble
« on: June 13, 2008, 07:27:11 PM »

New 08 serk owner and will I have bagger wobble? Owned softails before so this issue is new to me. If it is a problem whats the best solution? The cvo group and this forum is awesome - I had/have so many questions about my new bike and so little quality/qualified people to talk to until now. Thank you, thank you, thank you

Gene,
First off welcome to the site glad to have you join us. :2vrolijk_21: When you get a chance you should go to this board - New Member Introduction and start a thread to introduce yourself.

As for your wobble can you give some more info as to when you are feeling this, ie: in curves, ramps, high speed, etc.

I get it on my 08 SERK from time to time usually when that damn wind screen thing is on. I normally ride without it  ;) I've asked the dealer to check it at 5k service just in case and the tech said it wasn't apparent to him  :nixweiss:  :nervous:

Been reading American Bagger - the last three issues suggest the HD FL models have issues with the rear wheel tracking differently in relation to the front wheel when in turns, caused by the rubber engine mounts and issues with the rear swing arm bushings. Looking forward to my annual Sturgis trip and really enjoy the riding there. Trying to eliminate possible uncomfortable situations.

The wobble has been around about as long as the FL chasis has been manufactured. It's a product of rubbermounting the tranny which is where the swingarm connects to the drive train.

If you search the site for wobble, you'll find plenty of discussions.

This is true, but some do have it and some don't. Best thing to do is ride your bike some first to see if yours does. As was already mentioned there are several threads on "wobble" and also some of the products people have used - True-track, RideStr8, Alloy Art Stabilizer, TWR are just a few that come to mind.

And in case you haven't noticed, I've decided not to ignore your BS any longer. That doesn't stop your stupidity either. So this will get ugly until you direct your crap elsewhere. Certainly people will mind when I answer your crap everytime. They might not have minded so much when I ignored you. Maybe enough will get fed up with your BS too if I keep going back at ya everytime. I never start, but won't take your crap any longer either!
