That is a fairly common occurance, on all flt's. My 89 FLHS cracked one header and broke one clear off until I changed to 2 into 2 pipes. My 00 FLHTC did the same exact thing at around 20k. My 01 FLTRSEI has not done it YET. I actually rode the 89 for at least 200 miles until I was able to fix it. It broke completely and I was on a ride. No damage done.

That is why DJW calls you the "genius," Otis. [smiley=scholar.gif]  The "upside down" [smiley=oops.gif] [smiley=zstupid.gif] hanging of my pipes has placed an undue stress [smiley=vrolijk27.gif] on the rear head pipe precisely in the area of the weld where the left exhaust pipe is attached to the head pipe, resulting in a stress fracture [smiley=shocked2.gif] and near separation [smiley=behead.gif] as depicted in the attached photos. [smiley=smiley_up.gif]

Otis, perhaps next you can ponder the question asked in Twolane's signature.  Maybe there is another "pipe" that is packaged "upside down" and preventing communication of a serious condition until after it becomes inconvenient to relieve  the built-up back-pressure. [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

Screw that.  I'll come onboard for 7 (as long as it's SAE numbers) and I've actually ran a campaign before  (and to preemptively answer the upcoming smartass question, hell yes the candidate won  [smiley=huepfenlol2.gif] [smiley=beerchug.gif] ) .   Really, how much difference can there be between a campaign for President of the United States and one for village dog catcher anyway?
