Looks like my card just got punched?  Bike was built late March, took delivery 4 April, 3800 miles.  Only mod is SERT, V&H Duals/Ovals, SE AC.  I'll be crying in my pillow for a while...

It's not the end of the world.......just very frustrating!

Lot's of folks here that have "been there - and done that"  I think all the 110's will eventually leak (if ridden)

Take it to the dealer and they will fix it with what ever the MoCo is currently sending out for a "fix".  Who knows, maybe you will get the new secret "fix" that no one can divulge the source they heard it from :D

Mine leaked at about 2800 miles a couple of months ago.  The dealer got it in & out in two days.  About 2000 miles since the repair and no more leaks so far.

Wenchal,
Unfortunately, welcome to the "110 Leakers Club".  Like LRebel said, most of us have been there already, and it's more of a frustration than anything else.  Mine happened at about 5200 miles and they replaced both front and rear with the "new and improved" "B" gaskets.  I haven't put a lot of mileage on the SEUC since I had them replaced (about 1K), but they appear to be holding for now.  I know that this isn't an option for everyone, but so I'm not overly upset if/when the SEUC is in the shop (especially during peak riding season), I bought a Street Glide as my daily ride and can ride that if the SEUC goes back in.  The reverse is also true, if the SG is in the shop for maintenance, I still have the SEUC to ride, which is what I'm doing today, cuz the SG is in for it's 1k service.  Now if both are in the shop at the same time?   :nixweiss:   Hmmmmm, maybe will have to try and convince Momma that I need a third one.   :o  Yeah, like that's ever going to happen.   ;) ::) :P

I was at a Hooters bike last night and saw a B/O '07 with the tell-tale weep down the side of the case. I asked the owner about it and he looked at it and said "I just got it out of the shop getting the head gaskets changed."

The dealers are right when they say "They all do it."

Know what you mean.  We are all pretty anal about our bikes and what them as close to perfect as can be.  I sure hated to have anyone, even the best tech in the shop, tearing down my brand new bike to 'fix' something that should have never happened.  But after two repairs and a motor swap, 18 months of ownership and 36k I'm about over it.  Now I simply don't give a chit.  Just fix the damn thing already.

Mine has a bit of that oil stain on the rear cylinder but it is not the end of the world and you can drive it that way for many miles. Mine showed the oil stain around 7K, well I'm at 12K now and the bike still runs great and the oil level doesn't change at all. Until the oil is really leaking bad I would just ride keep riding it.

Agree, I'm going to check it out, maybe tomorrow, but remain positive and just keep riding it.  I have many years of warranty and I'm sure HD has plenty of parts.

That's all you can do for now, remain positive.  They are nice bikes.

You have two years (or 7 with extended) and HD will sometime in the future provide a final fix.

If your motorcycle still goes down the road and only has a small stain of a head gasket leak, why give up great riding to have it fixed now when you can still have it fixed in the fall when riding is sub-standard.

This 110 motor has been a nightmare for me and I would be surprised if DON'T have any more problems. Oh well, I still get tons of compliments on the paint !!  :drink:

Well, everyone has to judge for themselves. I agree that you can ride the bike many miles with the leaking gasket, however to install new parts (and on my bike the dealer not only changed the gasket but also the piston and parts of the rear cylinder) takes only one day. Unfortunately H-D does not offer the warranty extension in Europe and it remains to be seen if they will fix anything for free after the initial warranty has run out.

Ride safely,
Louis

As a member of the "unlucky 110" club, I welcome you to our dismay.
As other members replied, enjoy the bike and let MoCo supply the repair parts while the warranties, regular and extended, run their time out.
First engine swapped at 7100 miles. Second ?  It is at 4200 miles and displays a heat related quirk, but no leaks.

Enjoy your bike, and ride. :2vrolijk_21: :2vrolijk_21:
