have you plugged you vin into h-d.com to see if there are any recalls you qualify for?
I think so, and if I was in the correct place, then no I don't.

Oh yeah forgot to mention the leaking head gasket that needs to be replaced as well.....

the one I took pictures of when you picked it up?
   :o  :nixweiss:

Also, You do NOT have the LED version...I unplugged it just in case before loading it in the truck...didn't want to kill your battery...

Sorry Steve to bump in on your thread.  You need to trade your non LED light for the LED light, your cost or theirs, or just remove it.  It is only a matter of time before it burns out or actually up!  We heard of one of our CVO brothers having a huge fire in his tour pak.
My question is on the comp nut.  Since my engine was rebuilt - can I assume that I got a new comp nut which hopefully would have been tightened correctly?

As long as it is covered, it doesn't matter.  You guys did point it out to me so I was aware of it before I bought it.

Thanks

That new tightening method/spec predated your rebuild Candy.  So it's a pretty good bet you got it tightened the "new" way.

I don't remember for sure.  Was this an actual recall?  My recollection was that it was just a TSB to be used in case of failure.

Through this site I learned early on about the replacement. At that time it wasn't a recall but one of the infamous "if you've got a problem we'll change it out" deals. I mentioned the problem to the service writer at the dealer, she checked it out and replaced the unit at no charge.

At the time, at least for many, it was important to report a problem.  ;)

don't remember for sure.. . I do remember that mine was the 1st one my dealer had done.....  but in any case...if you walk into a dealer and say 'this thing stays on or is hot" and it is quite obviously the old one...   how can they say it aint covered?

If they don't know about the TSB and are too lazy/dumb to find it in the history.

My light ran my battery down to the point it would not charge back up.
My dealer replaced it no charge. Then it ran the new one down to.
My dealer charged me this time for new battery. A few days later I
realized the light was staying on. Dealer replaced the light with LED
model, but would not reimburse me for the battery. I was pissed!!!
