In the end, it's kinda simple now. Build the bottom end properly. Cases split and modified for a Timken bearing and new forged S&S crank. Then the top end needs some good head work, new pistons, Axtell cylinders and Cometic head gaskets, cams, pushrods, lifters (debatable about gear drive vs hydraulic, and replacing the oil pump), larger TB w/good intake, D&D Performance Fatcats, and a great tune! That's basically it. There's also the small details and finishing touches. Doing it right from the beginning from top to bottom, shouldn't cost more than about 7 grand. Cost me 8500 because I did it 3 times to get it right. Plus I bought new cases on top of that. ;)

What if you just want a very reliable motor, I don't need a racer I just want reliability. I have had the balls to the wall speed demons now I just want to go when I want to. What do you think will work for the 110. :nixweiss:

B/D

I assume you mean the 110.
For reliability do what Sadunbar and hoist have done.
They both could have gone with more cubic inches, high lift cams, more compression and had a "racer".
I think the motors they have are as reliable as any the motor company has ever built and probably more than some "speed" shops build. With builds similar to theirs you "can go when you want to go"!

My point is that we usually have seen something by now on this site since I am sure the displays are done and some people have access

You would think so but, security is very tight and nondisclosure agreements are taken very seriously at the MOCO

Ditto.  In the several years I can remember none of the rumors have ever been supported by a photo before the unveiling.  We've seen color charts for the main model lines more than once.  But photos of or even color information about the CVO bikes hasn't happened that I recall.

He's correct on two points and maybe all three. 09 CVO Road Glide and a new design frame...
