New C&C solo seat for my SERK4
« on: June 26, 2008, 11:01:30 PM »

I just got my C & C solo seat with a detachable back rest, and rear pillion. They are recovering the rear passenger backrest pad to match. I had them mimic the stock seat's pattern. I used the charcoal snake insert to accent with the Silver Dust color.

The box was marked fragile but was crushed on top by UPS. The large wrinkles in the seat are a result of this abuse. I hope they come out after some time. I'd like to let the sun heat it up some but the sun has been kind of rare in the midwest so far.

I really like the rear fender paint job having more exposure. Have a little buffing to do on some slight rubs from the stock seat but I think they'll come out. Looking for a good idea on what to put in the left over hole on the fender.
(I bet I'll be sorry I opened that door)  Here's couple of pictures thanks to Firedood helping out....again! :)

I sit about an inch lower and feel more like I'm part of the bike instead of sitting on top of her. If the rain gives me some time, I'll give a ride report later.

Thanks Scott

They're out of California.  Talked with one of the owner, Chuck. From order to delivery....5 days. Workmanship looks top notch. The backrest is very adjustable and much more comfortable than the stock.

Thought I'd heard of them before but wasn't sure.  Found them on the web here: http://www.ccseats.com and pretty sure it's the place I was thinking of.  East LA/Compton area in Paramount.  Check out their "custom" section on the website.  Sweet stuff.

The Road King seat here looks very sharp.  It's perfect with the bags too.  Very very nice.

The look is great.  Any idea yet what it'll be like for comfort and ride?

I zoned in on that one also.  It looks as if they've got that low sculpted look down to an art form.  Really sharp seats.  You can almost say that something that looks as good as a lot of those do wouldn't even have to be all the comfortable to put up.  You can almost say that :huepfenlol2: .

Hey 2lane

Haven't had any seat time yet. Just tossing a leg over for initial feel, the saddle really cradles you. The seat scoops up enough the back rest will only see duty on trips. The padding is firm but not hard. Hope to get couple hundred on her this weekend.

Good luck with it Jeff.  Hope it feels every bit as good as it looks.  If it does you've got a real home run there.

BD,
How does the solo seat mount?  Does it have the two tabs on the rear?  One of the pictures on their site shows a single tab with nothing in it, others show no tabs at all.
