Being that I have not received my BT module yet, I started calling around again. The dealer is supposed to be calling me back with a tracking # to confirm shipment. In the meantime I have found another dealer that says he has one 76408-06 "in his computer". If I don't need it, PM me and I'll forward anyone his info.
AJ

AJ,

I had mine shipped out of California I was expecting it on Friday but I called and they gave me the tracking # it is due in on Monday.  The problem is ground is 4 days from Cali and they didn't ship until Tuesday because they were closed on Monday and I guess their driver picks up in the AM.

I was hoping to do the install this weekend but oh well.

Likewise. I'm hoping that it did indeed go out on Monday and will take a few days to get across country. On a positive note, I got the Kuryakn adapter installed in about 10 minutes! I now have run-brake-turn in my new saddlebag lights.  ;D

Hoist! what we (Chuck) did was take the LED saddlebag light wires and run them into the harness under the seat. The lights are supposed to pick up the voltage from the auxiliary power source under the seat (the one hot wired to the switch). Instead he cut the ends off of a HD run-brake-turn module that I haad ans spliced in the LED wires to one end. Next, the Kuryakn part was put in series into the other side of the plug. So, in effect, you have two harnesses plugged into the bike's harness. I'm on the road right now but will post pictures this afternoon.

It's simple once you have the Run/Brake/Turn Module (I have HD's not Kury), I disable the Run portion cause there just isn't enough difference for me between run/brake.  I have mine wired up to the tourpak lights along with the regular turn signals so they are turn/brake (already have run on the tourpak), would be simple to just wire the saddlebag spoiler lights into it also (don't have saddlebag spoilers though:( ).

As some of you know, I was going to buy a BT module from the left coast. Well, it now appears that I might have a lead on one from this side of the US. The ordered was placed today and should ship out tomorrow. Once I have the tracking # I'll tell all the details. I'm really hoping this is the last time I have to go through with this.

Did you get your BT module yet? Got mine today shipped to my dealer from east coast. Paid $499.95 for the HDM kit and $90.95 for the Overlay. They said the Overlay Kit was special order and reason for higher cost. Total invoice was $633.74 with Calif tax. I didn't raise issue with higher cost for Overlay as they originally told me i would have to pay shipping and this didn't show up on invoice. He also reminded me two other people were asking for these and he tried for two days and couldn't locate anymore. I think these things are now officially gone.. Mine came in a factory sealed box so I'm not worrying as much thinking i could have gotten a return or used unit, which leads me to question the warranty issues. Are these a 90-day return warranty, and one year factory?. I wonder how these issues will be handled if need be?

I spoke to the East Coast dealer (yet to remain unnamed) and he said it has shipped out but didn't have the tracking #. I should have it here by tomorrow, Friday at the latest, at which time I"ll reveal the whole story once it's in my grubby hands.

Buvy,

What are your ideas for mounting? I'm leaning towards mounting under the fairing but concerned what AJ went through on his failed unit. I'm thinking of placing the module inside one of Radio Shack's Hobby kit box and seal that up water tight. But I'm wondering about the heat?? Other thought is seal up the factory module with RTV and the same with the harness connector. As you're aware, we need to baby these things.. Did get yours at same cost as mine, both being bought in Calif?

I think mine was more expensive they ching-a-ling'd me since they knew it was obsolete.  Anyways after AJ's experience with it shorting out and going back and digging up all the old threads I could find I think I'm going to attempt to accomplish what eqcons did with it below the latch and with the cigarette lighter for emergency charging (of camera, phone, or iPod).  It seems like the best possible solution given all the variables involved.  I guess my lone concern is when I make my TP detachable.  I don't mind losing the BT module when detached at all it's just how the wiring will all work as I'm a total n00b at that stuff.

Here's the quote
In the leather tour pak, there's a raised rectangular area in the liner, on the left hand side, below the hinge.  It sits in there quite nicely, though it does raise the liner off the wall of the tour pak a little.  Some dumb dealer techs never think of that and mount it on the front wall of the liner, and they cut a big chunk out of it, so if you go for having it in the tour pak, and you are not fitting it yourself (it's not that difficult a job though), make sure you tell the guy who's fitting it exactly where to mount it.  See attached pic of mine - you'll see I've also put a cigar lighter socket in there so the phone can sit in the tour pak on charge.

As AJ says, some folks have put them in the fairing, on top of the radio, though I believe space is quite tight there, but it does go, albeit with a load of extra wiring that has to be coiled up.

Here's the pic

I just used a suitrable one from the local accessory store as it happens - cost a load less than that! ;-)   Wired it (separately fused) into the rear light circuit, since that's already present in the TourPak.
