Lucky you and I believe that is probably a common sentiment on this sight. Welcome to the family and....

Ya know, I used to feel exactly the same way about my bike. I check this forum daily and would utter those words to myself. Don't get me wrong! I absolutely LOVE my bike, but it seems that just overnight both jugs and the #1 engine bolt started weeping, both head gaskets started leaking, ACR's pop at low rpm idle and the grease in the neck just pours out. I've read many times from many individuals that if it hasn't happened yet, it will. I'm now a believer!!!   :(

Head gasket leaks on the 110 engines are just a figment of our imagination. That black spot under the rear header is road grime.

That's the GoldWing salesman spraying bunt hot oil on it late at night while you sleep. Those guys will do anything to make a sale.

At about 3000 miles I decided to get some motorwork done on my 07 which included new cams & Headquarter heads. My friends thought I was nuts doing that before warranty was up.Now they think I did the right thing. I have had no issues at all on the bike & what I did to the motor was probably the best money spent. It runs great & pulls like a freight train. THE MUFFMAN

I wonder if the harder you ride or beat your bike has anything to do with the motors leaking. I know one thing, my break in period consisted of starting the bike. Thats what the warranty is for!

Yea, some people have tried to tell me if it was leaking it was because I was beating on it. Mine started at 1,800 miles and I guarantee you it wasn't beat on. The extremely high failure rate should indicate that it is a global problem, not related to a small percentage of abusive riders.

There's a higher percentage of failures here because most of the members here actually ride their bikes and don't just polish them between viewings at bike night.

That's funny ,cuz I used to ride the bike hard and didn't have a single problem except for going thru tires like they were water. Never burned 'em - just my shifting habits & high speeds. Almost always took the rpm's upt to 4,000 - 4,500 before shifting. Liked that rocketship effect! Decided that if I wanted to save $$$ on tires and gas - plus prolong my own existence, I better start taking it a bit easier. I started riding the bike around 2,000 to 3,000 rpm's and that's when chit started to happen!   :-\
