SE Stage 1 Vs Kuryaykyn HyperCharger...
« on: July 04, 2008, 10:06:10 AM »

I have been looking at the Roll Your Own thread, and have a few of the parts in my eBay watch list...

Is the change from the Hypercharger to the SE AC worth it??

I am not having any issues with the HyperCharger just going back to some threads from when I posted pics of my SERK when I got it - regarding the Hypercharger.

Just wondering.

In my opinion I would say no. If you like the looks of the hypercharger keep it. It will do you just fine. If your planning a radical engine build you might want to concider something different, but other wise save your money

I've heard the hypercharger isn't what it's hyped (pun intended) to be. It doesn't really give you that much more air volume.  I personally don't know this for a fact.  Just what I've read.   Now if you want a lot of air volume and cool looks, get the Heavy Breather from HD.  Lifetime air filter, sucks in a ton of air, and looks great, plus you get a neat little close-fiber sock with a Screamin' Eagle imprinted on it.   I have it on my Street Glide and it and really like it.

The heavy breather looks cool, but actually the the regular se hi flo air clearer will out perform it.

Performance-wise, probably not much difference between the two.  Looks-wise, well, here's what they told me about about the Hypercharger: http://www.cvoharley.com/smf/index.php?topic=21090.msg358853#msg358853

Actually, I don't really mind the looks of them, myself.  And the all-chrome one on your bike definitely looks better, at least to my eye, than the blue insert did on mine.  I agree with oilcan, if you like the looks of the hypercharger keep it.

If it's same same - I will just leave it...  Don't fix it unless it's broke in my mind.  I think it looks decent, I like the Deuce cover, or the S&S ones the best, but this one looks decent to me.

Thanks,
