Well, I think my 425lb 89" Pro Street will blow it away! Bikes are purpose built. Touring bikes are for touring. Giving them some performance makes touring more fun for that purpose. And like Don said, I'll use my Hot Rod SERK and ride all day. Not interested in touring on my Pro Street. But I'll race that Sporty with it any day of the week. ;)

Welcome aboard if you're still here! :2vrolijk_21:

So if you ever come back here to visit and see this post,  try this forum out, they will welcome you with open arms.  Just tell them SklyWag sent you, after all my name comes from my other Harley, not my SE.  http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/BayAreaSportsters/

And just so you don't think I am telling you to go away here is a picture of my Sporty in Touring Dress.  30k miles, 17k two up.  Yes, it will outrun my SE, yes it will go further on one tank of gas than my SE, it has a Softail Std 5 gal tank.  No, I can't ride out a tank of gas wihout stopping at least twice to let my butt numming go away.

It sits beside the SE and gets ridded daily, I wouldn't part with it for anything but it is never meant to be compared to the SE.  They live in two different worlds.

Oh, I'm still here fellas... sorry, I was out riding my 1 year old bike that doesn't have any handlebars I've someone managed to put 9000 miles on in 8 months... but what do i know, i don't ride it... i buy them to look at and polish them...

I guess I came off the wrong way... I wasn't trying to ridicule you all for buying a harley touring bike (cause you're right, they do have there purpose for some people) or a cvo at that (cause some people just have money to burn)... if anyone took offense i apologize... I was trying to insult if anyone, the MoCo for thinking or advertising a 1/2 ton, air cooled, pushrod motor that redlines at 5500 rpm as a performance machine by putting a special name on it with a slightly larger motor that leaks... ie, 110's...
I know I use to work at a dealership until the bullchit from the moco got to be too much.. try talking to those morons at tech services who think the fix for a motor tha leaks is increasing finising torque on the head bolts  (by adding an additional 90 degrees) after putting gasket sealant on the cylinder bases.... yeah, these are the best and brightest the moco has to offer... oh yeah and then they ship you supposed "new head gaskets" which are really just the old evo style ones... woohoo... so yeah I'm more frustrated with the moco than anything... so I apologize. If I wanted to go fast I'd go back to riding japanese sportibikes... nowadays I'd rather ride american assembled ari cooled bikes...

Oh, I'm still here fellas...

Don't worry about.  Everyone was having fun either with you or because of you.  We're pretty good that way.  And it's not like we'd ever really be insulted by someone without a real bike anyway...  ???

Ok, I'll stop screwing around and make the actual welcome.  General guideline most of us go by is I don't care what you ride or who you ride only that you ride.  So have fun and enjoy the crowd here if you choose to visit; even if you don't have handlebars :drink: .
