Need to vent
« on: July 15, 2008, 11:15:03 AM »

I was riding into work this morning when traffic slowed to around 30-35 MPH in both the carpool and non-carpool lanes.  In CA, lane splitting is LEGAL, so I start splitting.  I am getting ready to overtake a van (carpool lane) and a silver Honda Civic (non-carpool lane).  Right as I get to their back bumpers, the Honda yanks the wheel to the left making me slam on the brakes not to get hit.  I figure that the guy isn't paying attention so I get behind the van.  As I pass the Honda, he yanks the wheel to the left again pushing me further across the carpool lane towards the shoulder.  I look over and the a-hole has a "f&#k you" look on his face.  I grabbed a handful and got the hell away from him.

If I had a weapon on the bike I'd be getting interviewed by the police right now explaining why I shot him.

That sucks, the hateful bastid should get a nasty cancer and die....A pox on him!

Remember, self defense..."Officer, I was in fear for my life and would like to speak to a lawyer".....

A vehicle is considered a deadly weapon when used as such.

I have not figured out how to get my Benelli M4 mounted on the bike yet...

Ernie,

I hear your frustration loud and clear, As a rider and fellow member here, DO NOT LET THIS RUIN YOUR DAY. SHAKE IT OFF, It's early in the day by you and Thanks be to GOD that he was able to make you arrive to your destination alive. Also if you would have made the decision that you wanted to stating above "If you had a weapon, You would be interviewed by the police why you shot him." You could have made that decision, But regretfully you would not be able to enjoy anfd ride your scooter's for a long time. Here to listen and share that life is to short here on earth, Enjoy the rest of your day ahead and Be cool. Have a safe ride home tonight Dude.

I also sympathise with your plight, as it happens quite frequently in Virginia that a cager decides he doesn't want to be passed, even though he/she is doing 15 mph under the speed limit in the "hammer lane". As you go to pass them in the right lane, they speed up. Another favorite game they play is the two lane passing zone speed up, preventing you from getting around them comfortably and safetly. Please let the moment go, as it will inevitably happen again and again, if your drivers are anything like the ones in Virginia. Just make sure one doesn't cause you to go down! Peace!

i had a F-250 Ford do this to me once.. he came so close to me that we nearly sideswiped. He ended up with a shattered left mirror..(wont tell ya how that happend  :huepfenlol2:, thank god for leather gloves) Neat thing about it, traffic was so heavy he couldn't even attempt to chase me down.

I used to carry 3/4" ball bearings back in the 70's.  I should start carrying something similar again...

I could fabricate you one at the Auto Hobby Shop??

I was thinking more on the line of a .17 cal.  Lower recoil then the 223 and less chance of collateral damage if you pierce something that does not stop the round...

A sawed-off shotgun makes a great bike to car weapon.  Lots of stopping power and noise but not a lot of penetration!

Ernie let me put this in a better perspective for you....

Remember all during the winter when us on the east coast were freezing and couldn't ride...... You still were (and rubbing it in too ;) :D). Guess you'll just have to chalk this up as somebody having a bad day, and not let it ruin yours and ride on. :2vrolijk_21:
