HD is probably waiting until the dealers get the parts inhouse before sending the letter to you & I.

So you think you would have to have the bike repaired at the dealer of origin?

I entered my VIN number on the HD site and I have a Product Notice and a Recall Notice on my bike.  Anyone know what the second one is about? :confused5:

Product Notice: 0905: PRD PGM: 07/08 CVO 110 HEADS
Recall Notice: 0135: 2008 FL TOURING FILTER SHELL

Here you go Dennis: http://www.cvoharley.com/smf/index.php?topic=25524.msg413583#msg413583

It is the " fuel shell" recall.

Does anyone know if the cylinders of the '09s have a new part number?  Is it possible the cylinders have been upgraded, but the part number unchanged?   :nixweiss:

I suppose anything is possible, but normally anytime the MoCo modifies or improves a part, they keep the same part number but add a letter suffix to the part number.  I would think if they have modified the cylinders they would be the same part number, but have a progressive letter higher in the alphabet then the previous version.

If there was in fact a change to the design there would be a change to the part number, most likely the letter suffix on the end.  However, if they are treating this as a vendor quality issue then the part number would not normally be changed.  Then you would have to look for a casting date on the actual parts and have access to the suspect date listing, ie. parts cast from xx/xx/xxxx thru x/xx/xxxx.  Much tougher than a part number change.
