I believe there is a date stamped on the VIN plate for the date of production. :pumpkin:
Ride Safe,

 :fireman:

There is only a production number.  The sticker on the frame has month and year of production.  The dealer can look up production date.  If you made a copy of the MSO you would have the date.

OK I just talked to the PERSON that gave me this info. I do stand corrected on one thing. It was not a TSB it was a letter to the dealer dated 7/16/2008.

The fix does NOT include cylinder, rings or heads. The were the subject of a prior TSB. They also will not replace the cylinders unless the liners had shifted.

The fix includes GASKETS,AUTO COMPRESSION RELEASES,VALVE GUIDES and a CRANK NUT!!!! That is it nothing more and nothing less!

Thanks Mike. Let me know if I need to be looking at that. You know, I'm not sure if my S&S forged crank came with it's own new crank nut, or if we reused the HD nut. I'll have to check with Vern to see if I'm vulnerable. Let me know what you find out. Thanks. :2vrolijk_21:

Don't know about youze guys, but my crank doesn't have nuts. It's got bolts on both ends. :nixweiss: Maybe they've changed the compensator bolt because so many of them have come loose.

Looks like the only thing I get out of the "fix" deal is new ACR's. Unless someone else is making the 4" cylinders for Harley I don't see how this will get it done.

Is there any way to tell the date the bike was assembled via the VIN? I picked mine up on April 20. Does that mean my bike has the "new" parts? Tomorrow being Sunday, I can't get to my SM til Monday. Or do I just Wait and see? He's also leaving for Vegas this week for their meeting and unveiling.

Have any of noticed that under the seat on the frame rail on the left hand side that there is a time dated stamp. Would that help anyone with their production date?

HeHe! The term "nuts" and "bolts" are used loosely on these bikes. The head bolts aren't really bolts, they're more like nuts than bolts, since they screw over the studs. The crank nuts are really bolts but are referreed to as crank nuts. I think we're all nuts however! :nixweiss: ::) ;D ;D ;D

I know you sometimes lose your nuts at your exhaust port, but we've never been treated to any info about d00d's crank nuts. :o
