I started this topic and I've had the Wild 1 WO 514s on my bike, with a 9.5 inch rise, for several weeks now and put on about 500 miles since the new handlebar install. I don't use this bike for touring at all. I've decided that even though I really like these compared to stock, I wish I would have gone taller on the rise. Ideally I'd like about 4-5 more inches. Wild 1 offers the WO 516 that is 12.5 inches in rise but that's only 3 inches more than what I already have. Wild 1 came out with a new Springer bar not too long ago, the WO 569 that is 16 inches in rise which is 6.5 inches more rise than the 514 that is now on my bike. It might be slightly higher than what I want but I've learned over the years I'd rather err on taller than too short.

I decided to give this new 569 bar a try. Since I have the black Springer and I've always wanted a black handlebar, I'm going to powder coat it in black. As it turns out, when I talked to Wild 1 today they just got a shipment of "raw" 569s in with no chrome on them yet. I've been told you get a better powder coat over raw steel versus chrome but I don't know if this is true. I asked them to send me a raw one and they are. I'm still trying to decide on high gloss vs. satin. I know I don't want to go with black flat given the paint that this bike has on it. I hear that high gloss gets marked up easier and it shows. Satin has some shine but hides flaws better than gloss. I'd be interested in comments and other experiences with powder coating. When I get back from Sturgis all the parts should be in and I'll post the new pictures after the install.
