That sounds expensive Steve.  Until you remember that Harley charges $74,000,000 (approximately) for a replacement speedometer by itself.  Once that is factored in it's a bargain!

Thanks for the tip...

Well I picked up the bike from the dealer tonight.

They claim it was just the sensor.
I did ride it home without an issue.........so I will watch and see.

Crap, I've got a spare sensor could've sent you.  Takes like 15 minutes to change them on the SEEG.  Don't remember, did you have speedo and cruise control problems simultaneously or just speedo?

I took the sensor out and put it in Neals bike and he never saw a problem.  I could not fish his out to put in mine to confirm.  It was just the speedo until the range was too great, then the cruise would shut off.

As strange as it sounds, it felt like the bike has more get up and go...am I crazy?

So I was headed out to NY to see the girlfriend this AM and she probably could have heard me the 175 miles away.
Screaming and swearing cause the bike wasn't fixed :soapbox:.

I knew it wasn't the sensor.
Now at 70 I am doing 5 -10 MPH.

I am "loosing" miles on the odometer as well.  I lost 6.5 on the way out and don't even want to guess how many on the way back tonight.

Looks like the service writer will be eating his hat when I get back there Tues AM with the bike.
He assured me that it was fixed when I picked it up Thurs night and if it wasn't he would eat his hat.

Well....... crap.  If the cruise wasn't crapping out at the same time it was never the sensor though.  If you need it to chew out the service writer I'll share Scot's "Deadwood" reference with you; but only in private.  It'd get doododerized here in public.

Steve if you go by the Zumo for your speed....after a while you will have a bike with 0 miles :2vrolijk_21:

Just making light of the situation :coolblue:

If it wasn't for the Zumo I would have a fighting chance on a speeding ticket.
Officer: "Do you know how fast you were going?"
Me:"20"
Officer:"Try again..."
Me:"No really, I am having a problem with the speedo, see here is the repair order."
Me:"Evidently they didn't get it fixed yet"
Officer:"And I suppose the GPS is wrong as well....."
Me:"Doooh!!!"

Well now I can't turn the cruise on unless it is in a window where it reads correctly.
What really sucks is with that "cool" speed sensitive audio system I have.

Until the speedo gets fixed you can minimize the effect on the audio by turning the AVC all the way down.  Controlled through the left handlebar switch.  Go through the options to get to AVC then scroll it all the way down.  Volume will then stay constant.  So it'll be loud when you come to a stop.  But that's what your thumb is for.

I am familiar with that setting as I did turn it up a few steps as I didn't feel it was working shortly after getting the bike.

It goes back in to the dealer tomorrow.

Thanks
