I'm in on either the orange or the silver, most likely it will be timing, but I'm down on one.

I stopped at the HD shop today and said I wanted one, the owner was there and said he was sold out of SE's.  After talkin' with him for a few minutes I realized he didn't know I meant a 2009 model.

It's all good, I's the first one there. :2vrolijk_21:

I agree. For that kind of money I'd expect a chopped tourpack, rear crash bars, lower fairings, rider back rest, and the rest of the stuff that SHOULD be on there.

Then it's be $34k like the Ultra I imagine.  We can get 'em and do a B B on it.

When it gets to you will you have Gene remove the body line on the saddlebag extensions and repaint?  Or anything else that's jumped out at you already?

That surprises me with you Jim.  As much attention to precision and detail you practice and enjoy in what you do and what you've displayed I'd have guessed that the several areas on the new SERG that look less than nicely finished would just bug the hell out of you.

Well it does me too, First impressions are good thought. After reading all of the comments and looking at things closer I do feel they could have done things better. It still is a very nice bike though. The real impression will come when we see one in person instead of the flashy media photos.

I think what we all need to remember and understand is that the CVO's are suppose to be factory bikes decked out with factory add on parts, options and paint. They are not one off customs.......

I'm not one to dick around with the paint on the "custom" scheme, but it might find it's way to the ceiling of the garage and replacement pieces could give it a unique look.  Until I see one in person I will hold all judgement.  I suppose it could turn out that I just walk away but I doubt it.

Since B B did his orange monster, I have had the hots for a RG.  This will make a good starter kit I trust.

Is it just me or is the Harley site still showing 08's on the Screaming Eagles?

I showed my post above with the 2009/2000 comparo to my wife and said, "Honey, there's the new SERG on top and mine on the bottom, whaddaya think?!"  She said, "The new one doesn't have a bird, does it?"

This is why newer isn't necessarily better.  The paint scheme on the 09 is obviously the newer of the two, artistically, but the design on the 00 is so much more dramatic and carries a theme.

Definitely.  Such a simplistic effort at recapturing such a cool bike.  The statement has to be "we know you'll buy it so we don't have to try very hard."

Unfortunately, there is probably a big bunch of bottom line truth here.

The orange is kidda nice....... :2vrolijk_21:

This view looks good, for a production model Road Glide.  But for the CVO version, they should have done something more dramatic with the eagle head.  Or maybe left it off altogether and gone in a different direction.  That barely there eagle looks out of place.

It's still a good looking bike but I'm dissapointed with a lot of things here. It's a shame because just a few obvious things are keeping this bike from being a homerun.
