A lower price.  They are pricing many of us out of the market with their current approach, perhaps it's time to borrow some ideas from the Japanese (auto and bike) relative to option packages.  Regular Ultra, mid level upgrade with most of the SE stuff but perhaps without the paint or some other appearance stuff, and then the full zoot CVO version.  If they would incorporate the changes into regular production and get rid of the inefficient assembly process they currently use, there's no reason they couldn't make more profits while cutting the price spread from standard to CVO significantly.

I found it tough to justify $30k for a motorcycle in '05, but I would have a really tough time justifying $36k for the current model.  Figure taxes (including the Harley tax to make it run) and fees into the equation, you're basically looking at $40k for 2 wheels.  I don't spend that much on my four wheeled vehicles, and those I can use year round and in all kinds of weather.  Oh, and they are reliable and don't spend any time sitting in the shop.

There isn't anything with HD on it that's about needs.  It's all about wants.  There's nothing practical about any of money we spend on these bikes, but being practical rather than emotional does cause a little cooling of the jets when you consider what you're going to spend on the bike and then the expense of making what it should have been from the MOCO.

The big honking front fenders on these things looks like something out of an old Indian brochure.  No need for this monster on a SEULTRA.  Downsize the damn thing.

I've been wondering if I was the only one who thinks the front fenders look ridiculous.  I've never cared for the extra wide look, the large gap between the tire and the fender, and the straight line side view versus following the curve of the wheel.  The difference is amazing when you look at a custom with a proper fender versus the stock monstrosity.  Unfortunately, it won't change until Willy G. is long gone.

More unique, custom paint schemes! It's getting harder to tell the CVO's from the regular stock bikes. I've seen some sheet metal sets come out of their Custom Paint Shop that look a lot better than most of their CVO paint schemes of recent years.

Jerry, Right on the money - the look is all wrong - clunky looking.

I put a Fatboy fender on my 02 RK & it looks a lot beter than stock.  If I can find a painter I trust I might do the same on the 07 SEULTRA.  Has to have an adapter.  Might look around for another fender style when (if) I get serious about this.

Some of the retro look of the HD line is ok - after all the Heritage is all about retro.  But CVO bikes are (supposed to be) fast scoots.  They should look it.  From what I have been told Willie G. is more interested in bikes other than Ultras, RKs, etc. & concentrates on other models.  The touring line now gets the "new" rear fender bends -cosmetic like Chevy & Ford did back in the 60's.  Touring bikes need upgrading.  By Harley standards, that would be to about 1985 or so....

Maybe they will bring in some savvy Italian designers to revamp their look in the next year or so?
