I don't get it!!!! Like Howie said no head for the Roadking??? WTF The wife bike has has valve guide seals pop off and a dealer performed valve job. I would think new head would be needed. The rear ACR is currently failed. It is loosing power off and on for no reason. Back to the shop tomorrow for the program. It will be her 4th set of head gaskets. So the FMC think only ULTRA get hot????????????? The MOCO must have bought some more sand to stick there heads into. :soapbox:  Also another junk front tire replacement. Only has 8900 miles!!!!!   Another try to fix the clunking front end.

They suck.  No heads, we want cylinders and heads.  Why is the list of parts longer on the program 0906 program that is not getting new heads?

Campaign 905 covers the replacement heads, all 07 CUSE2's (not sure why SERKs weren't included, they got the same engine)... go to the HD website and enter your VIN and you'll find out which campaign your bike falls under.  If it's 905 (which mine is) you get new heads, if it's 906, you don't because you supposedly already have the heads with the new valve guides.

Because 0906 has several gaskets that aren't on 0905.

Not true.  New valve guides were rolled into production in May of this year, no 2007s could have it.  They singled out the CUSEs for a reason I can't understand.

So no heads for the SERKs either. Go figger.

The only thing I can think of is that they've determined that they had more valve guide problems on the CUSE's than on the others. The CUSE's had a much higher rate of leaks too, so maybe that means the CUSE's run hotter head temps which in turn caused more valve guide problems.

I'm sure they're not replacing heads on the CUSE's unless they have no other way to fix a problem. Of course if you have problems, then it will still get fixed under warranty, but they're not replacing heads just for the sake of giving away parts.

I don't think it has anything to do with them liking them better or anything like that. For some reason, which we'll never learn, they felt they had to replace the heads on the CUSE's. They wouldn't be doing it if there was a cheaper way to get it done, that's for sure.

Skreamin,
I'm sure if you slip the Service Manager a couple thousand, they'll happily replace your cylinders for you during the upgrade.  I don't know how they can explain away liner slippage and not replace the cylinders, but they are.  I guess we'll find out how effective, their "on-the-cheap" repair is when they have to come out with another service bulletin to replace the cylinders.  However, if they're using the same cylinders on the line today on the 110s that they used in 07, then they're saying that the ones that did slip were too low in numbers to justify a complete replacement.

This circus is exactly what I expected from HD when they finally got off their asses to do something. I knew it would be a lame, half-assed attempt. These issues will be around for some time til it gets straightened out right! And I got me a front row seat! FTF & FTW!!! ;)

I notice that the 'new' heads have a complete new p/n not just an alpha suffix.  Perhaps that is because they'll keep the original p/n for the serks and others not getting the new head or maybe because it says 'with acr' so maybe that is for a complete assembly.   :nixweiss:

Also, wonder if the 'top end gasket kit' includes the new square base seals.  It too is a new p/n from the original top end gasket kit in the parts catalog.

I agree Skreamin...just stating what the MoCo stated.  The 07 SERKs and SEUCs have the exact same engine.  Like Chief said, it must be that the SUECs run hotter because of the lowers and they had more valve guide slippage to justify new heads.  dunno   :nixweiss:
