Hello to all.  I just joined have been checking out the threads on exhaust and serts for the last couple of days.  I found this site by a google search for pipes.  I just bought a FLHTCUSE2 (have 138 miles on her) the sound was not what I expected so I starting searching for pipes and reviews on pipes.  I am little disappointed in the discovery of the heat issue with the new engines.  I have a 2006 Heritage with a stage I kit that I Love and have not had any issues with decided to go with a bagger because I plan on traveling across America this summer.  Great site ALOT of great information.  You guys rock! Thanks for all the posts.   :2vrolijk_21:

Welcome aboard T-Mac!

The heat problem is an issue if you don't change the pipes. Search the threads & you'll find all the options. I went w/ the Rineharts TDs and like them. My buddy tigertr1 went w/ the 2 into 1 had he likes his. Different strokes. AJ

Sorry for the LONG delay, I did not know that I had a reply ( I am about as computer illiterate as you will find). Any way, I have been watching this site for a good year and a half, as an guest. I owned an 06 SE ultra with all sorts of problems and I was trying to figure out what to do. I wound up trading it in and buying an 07 (worlds better) just not as pretty. The 07 is my third CVO, I also had an 01 SE Road Glide, a great highway bike, sold it due to high mileage and age. Still miss the Road Glide.

Glad you figured out the posting thing.  Sounds like some great bikes.  What were the issues with the '06?

the 06 would stumble and ( at times) stall while pulling away from a stop. The Tech at the dealer agreed with me and said it was so scary, he would no longer ride it, Anyway, the factory rep sent the ECU to Milwaukee for a reflash that was not available at the dealer. This made the problem about 80 percent better. This along with rediculous heat issues made this bike less than enjoyable. The difference in drivability between the 06 and 07 is night and day.
Salt on the roads has prevented me from riding since the end of January, I am definatly suffering from PMS ( parked motorcycle syndrome) Can't wait till spring and clean roads. It's snowing as I type, enough already!

Glad you're happy with the '07.  Lots of us had the issue on the stumble at start and took care of it with PCC's or SERT's.

We're all waiting for spring it seems.

Welcome to the site.

Get rid of the factory pipes and air cleaner for starters, get a decent tuner to do either SERT or PCIII dyno after maybe 1K miles and you off to a good start. Then tune in here for the latest on cams and other addictive elements to make your ride perform and look like it should!

Cheers!
