110" leaker as of this morning. Always knew it was just a matter of when, not if.
11,150 miles plus or minus a few, when she finally began to weep oil from the rear jug.
No point in posting pictures, looks the same as so many others.
Get this, tried to set up the "fix" 10 days ago when she was in for a new rear tire. Guy said, "No Moco letter, can't do anything for ya. That's the rules." I suggested that since the website returned the recall for my VIN, the fact that I was not in possession of a letter telling me what I already knew wasn't all that relevant. The Moco already knew what they were gonna have to do. "Well sorry you're just gonna have to wait for your letter." What if it leaks before then? "Well that's not likely, is it?" Right. Here we are.
One concern, when the same guy actually did punch it up in hte machine today, it came up with the 0905 recall only. I suggested it might be subject to 0906 as well. No, that's all it's bringing up. Since these are the same dopes who think my w......y is dependent on a piece of paper (I never asked him if they'd gotten their letter, which we've all seen) I'm somewhat concerned we're gonna be going back and forth on this for a while.
So my question is, anyone gone through the recall BS on their 07 SERK? Mine was a later build, June 07 I think. Which campaign(s) is the bike subject to? Gaskets only? The guy today acted like he didn't know anyting about valve guides ... my confidence here is not very high ....
So another question & I'll sit down. Anyone have the "fix" done in eastern PA / central NJ ? I don't want to single out my dealer as clueless (yet) but if there are more enlighted shops out there, I think maybe I ought to seek them out now before the headbolts come off ...
thanks
Patrick
