We've been doing the DVR thing and recording them all and then playing them back a day later and skipping the commercials, political BS and some of the events we're not interested in.  Takes us about an hour to get through an entire nights coverage.  Plus we can re-wind and go back and look at the swimming more closely.  My son is a rec league competitive swimmer and he's picked up a number of things from the underwater cameras and the commentators.  Go team USA!

I have really been enjoying the bonus coverage on DirecTV.  In fact I was late for work this morning because I lost track of time watching the Greco-Roman wrestling.  I woke my son up at 6:00am to watch it with me (he wrestles) and he just gave me one of those teenage son looks and went back to bed.

I enjoy watching the Olympics, but man some of the commentators have an IQ smaller than their shoe size.  Last night during the diving the one commentator asked the other one, "why do the divers shower after each dive?"  Her reply, "because its fun!"   ???  :nixweiss:

Boy... I just lost all respect for Spitz after reading that article.  Ah well, just confirms my opinion of most atheletes.   And hey, did I hear you say some kid is going for a record number of gold medals?  Don't tell any one the secret Mr. Phelps.  That would be mission: impossible...

See the commentators could be cornier!

This tape will self destruct in 10 seconds.
