A little more Montana-Short weekend run with a few pics
« on: August 12, 2008, 07:29:57 PM »

We took a run up to Glacier Park and the Kootenai Forest area for the weekend.  Short ride for us but we try to run the area 2 or 3 times a year and it never disappoints.  Saw 4 Grizzlies this time around.  Ran into an antique riders club too so we got to see some vintage iron and riders.

Beautiful pictures. We went to Yellowston, Red Lodge, Bear Tooth, Black Hills last year.  Seeing your pictures again makes me think there is another trip out west in my future.  Thanks for posting.

If only we didn't have to go through Ind., Ill., IA, Dakotas and half of Mt. it would be a great trip.

Screamin, I don't mind Illinois, I've got family and a farm in central Illinois, friends in Iowa and I just close my eyes until I get to the good part.  4 days out to Cody and I'm good to go.

+1 on the cornfield covered midwest.  We rode east to Ohio in 06 to visit family and the roads were straight long, and rough through a lot of the heartland.  On the way there we took a lot of backroads where we could, but coming back to MT was a beeline to Sheridan WY.  From there we decided to run 14A, Chief Joseph Highway and the Beartooth for our first time.   Much nicer trip back through there.  I was raised just down the river from Marietta Ohio, near Beverly.

Roger on the beeline. Not to offend anyone but cruise control @ 80 ish is the only way. Coming back from your state a month ago we decided to try N. Dak. instead of S. Believe they had something like 50 or 60 more trees. Two laned it through Ind. Pretty much like the interstate except slower. Went through lower Kan. on the way out. No better. 600+ mile days.
