Thunder Header?
« on: August 24, 2008, 02:21:44 PM »

I was looking at trying a 2 into 1 Thunder Header on my 2007  ultra classic with a cvo 110" upgrade. Any one tried one? Any thoughts?

Many of us have run Thuderheader.....some of us for years on several different bikes.  They're a great performance exhaust (low end torque) for a heavy bike and they sound really good.  But be aware......they are also a LOUD exhaust.

They also make a dummy left side now......so that you can keep the dual exhaust look (if that's important to you).

I got em on my SEEG and love them, look great even with the dummy one that is just for show. The sound is deeper than Rinehards in my opinion..

I had a Thunderheader on a softail EVO a few years back.  Seriously loud - but sounded great and ran great!  Loved it...  :2vrolijk_21:

Thanks for all the great input I will soon be investing in a Thunder Header. True duals look good but the power is in the 2 into 1

Appologies to those that have one, but he asked for opinions.  When I got my Fat Boy years ago I thought I wanted a Thunderheader.  Then I looked at and heard more of them.  Both looks and sound are personal things, but I think they sound just loud without sounding good; I could get that with three feet of water pipe.  And that cone at the back looks like it fell off and someone tack welded it back on - just looks terrible.  Dressers don't look right with one pipe and I've never understood the idea of bolting a dummy pipe on either.

Yep Axil that is a very nice Thunder Header you have there. Good Ole Punkin sure does miss it!!!!!!

On a 110 it is not enough pipe for that motor. You might want to look at the D&D Fat Kat.

I run the Thunder Header on my 2006 RG and, I've had em all Bassani, V&H,Samson, Rineheart,... The best performance pipe out there in my opinion is that Thunder Header. Now if you've got a 120 or 124, I would recommend get that D&D Fat Cat.
