Chrome Regulator for Classic SERGs
« on: August 29, 2008, 02:01:31 PM »

We have to call the old ones something.  And "old ones" just seems rude.  So, for the Classic SERGs from 2000 and 2001 I just discovered a chrome voltage regulator option.

Accel made it.  Though it's perhaps now an obsolete part from them.  If one is interested look for Accel part number 201127C.

The wiring from mine had been oil soaked over the years and the insulation was badly degraded.  Had resheathed with with shrink wrap but was looking for an alternative as I didn't full trust the seal and further potential deterioration.  Found one of these at Eastern Performance.  They might be a place to check for more if someone needs chrome.

No they don't Brian.  When I saw how ratty the wires were off mine during the first oil change I looked.  Didn't appear there ever was one.  A chrome cover.  Wasn't wild about the look though.  It's only like a 98-01 fitment so not a long lived piece.  Didn't initially find anything (good) in the aftermarket either.  But was only checking current production.  Finally found reference to this old Accel part number last night.  Didn't find stock at any of the normal venues but the part number came up on eBay with the piece at Eastern that I grabbed.
