To push this slightly back on track- the "Bridge to Nowhere" has been spoken about a bunch here in the lower 48. What's not spoken about is what that bridge was for, just that it was to be an enormous waste of money. You don't hear ANYTHING about it was to do for the community or the area. Just that it was some bridge headed to a little island for a few folks to use. Well, that's not quite the whole story; but when it comes to politics, do you ever get the whole story? The bridge was also to the area's airport. Currently, the only way to get to the airport is by taking an 1.5 hour boat ride! Unless, of course, you happen to be one of the few that lives on that island; but they need a 1.5 hour boatride to get groceries! How many of us would want to spend that long getting to an airport? I sure as hell wouldn't. Makes a little more sense to build it now, doesn't it?
